FF accept it as it is,the poor thing, who said a tree has to have lights all over it,just decorate that section differently, nice to have something different from others,my one is only a white twigg one with lights that change colours,i put diffent things on it each year,or nothing at all,i must see if i can get to it again,it does raise the spirits a bit, also want the mistletoe out the box ,i have had a lovely chill out so far today and several winks in the chair,

Thanks Bren, I must admit I'm rather pleased with it this time. I'm growing it a bit longer than usual and my hairdresser used straighteners on it today. That's a first ever for me, so a letter to Santa is due. I don't even have a hairdryer, but I may put that on the list tooGranny on the Game in Sheffield

Flo, isn't it weird. We always want the sort of hair we don't have. My hair has always been poker straight and all I ever wanted was curls or at least waves. It's only in the last decade that it's started to get a slight kink. Mr GF has got proper curls and used to try and straighten his with all kinds of lotions and potions.
I've just been watching Kes on TV. It's years since I saw it. The accents, the people, the attitudes, the mines and muck stacks. So true to life and of it's era. A bit like Rita, Sue and Bob too, which came later.

Morning
I know what you mean GF I always wanted straighter hair, Mines wavy so I've kept it short-ish since my late teens its easier to manage that way, especially when camping or wearing motor bike/cycle helmets.
Hope you're on Santa's 'nice' list Flo
enjoy your dayLocation....East Midlands.

Mornin n’alln’all
Vastly overslept again…but didn’t get to sleep until gone 4am so that’s not a surprise Pah.
So a huuuuge wiggle needed this morning to crack on with ‘stuff’
Two weeks to go eh????no doubt it will fly by
Well done on your crafting Bren. Always very satisfying isn’t it?
I’ve nearly finished knitting those leg warners for my daughter so I’m feeling chuffed. Whether they’ll fit her is something else!
Wiggle time- have a great day everyone- do help yourself to bread and butter…OH has just finished making two soda bread loaves and two Irish Soda loaves. Plenty to share!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good morning so, its dull but dry.
Hopefully this will be my last trip into town before the big day,
A few gifts to pick up, for those who are difficult to buy for.
Flo, I tried to grow out my hair a couple of times but gave up as it got to the untidy stage.
I keep it short now , very light brown with a couple of low lights to lift the colour.
Nicos, sleep is do important, I'm sure you'll catch up.
Have a good day all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

My youngest grandson is undergoing surgery at the moment for spectusexcavatum. It's been considered as cosmetic in the past, but as it is affecting his heart, he is one of the first to have the operation performed on the NHS. He's 17 and has had to go to Middlesbrough. It's a gruelling procedure, but will be worth it for him. Just needed to share my anxiety.Granny on the Game in Sheffield

Yikes Flo!
Pectus excavatum ? ( had to gooogle that)
We can’t help but worry about our loved ones.
So sorry you and your family are having to go through that concern so near to Xmas…but mostly concern for your lovely grandson. Let’s hope once it’s all over he’ll feel so much better on a day to day basis.
Ya know….you do need to have a word with him to explain there are much more simple ways to get out of washing up on Xmas Day
Sending you lots of hugs Flo xxxxLast edited by Nicos; 11-12-2024, 12:07 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Thanks Nicos x I'm relieved to say it's over and he's in recovery. It all went well. My son has sent me pictures and there's even a short video of the procedure! Weird seeing his heart beating - Himself can't bear to look. He will be in a great deal of pain for a few weeks, but a nerve blocker and a cocktail of drugs will help to control it. He had to have 3 bars to build his chest - sorry, probably too much informationGranny on the Game in Sheffield
