  • Well…the day is looking up!
OH got an email saying tomorrow between 10 and 12…( dare I say yipppeee?)

    And our friend has arrived!

I think I’ll celebrate by making more gingerbread biscuits. The tin seems rather faulty this year…when I go to get a couple out, there seem to be less and less in there. Strange innit?

    • Morning all.

Unbelievably, I'll pass on the ginger biscuits, Nicos. No, there's nothing wrong with me, but I've had too much toast for breakfast already and I don't want to frighten off the French fireman masseur at the Gardeners Rest by snerdling in sideways in a bid to get through the door.

Extremely cold last night. First thing I did was let the dog out and then immediately light the range to counter the blast of cold air that came pouring in when the door was open.

The list of jobs today is exactly the same as yesterday's. As you can tell, I wasn't as productive yesterday as I might have been...

Good news about Harry, Flo. Any idea when he might be discharged?

And good news about the phone and your friend, Nicos.

      Have a great day, everyone.

      • Good morning all. Dull, grey and wet, but its 10 degs.

Nicos, glad to hear your dsy is going well.

Flo, hope Harry gets home soon.

Not a lot happening here, I am going to take it easy as I had a flare up of pains in my bones which zi suspect is arthritis.

I might start wrapping my Christmas gifts.

        Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

          • Good Morning All Not been up long, neck ache kept me awake until about four this morning. I'm convinced now that it's the angle of the headrest on the dentist's chair.

Harry is home. It will be a long road to recovery, but he is comfortable. Thanks for all your good wishes.

Hope the phone turns up tomorrow Nicos.

            Have a good day All

              • Good afternoon.

I didn't have a good night's sleep last night. Mr GF awoke early and felt ill. He fell back asleep and still felt ill when he awoke. Nothing specific....just "I'm really ill" groan, groan or "I'm dying" groan, groan. This happens every so often and used to scare me... but I suppose familiarity breeds contempt. After I'd ascertained he didn't have a temperature and could walk and talk I got him to take his tablets and gave him a cup of tea.

He is now belatedly munching on a croissant and jam and is back to his normal happy self. He obviously doesn't realise how close he was to being strangled. .......

I am trying to work out when to do my shopping this week as I don't want to go to the supermarket when it's busy (end of the week), but would also like to not have to go next week at all. I might manage this if I can buy milk and cream with a longish sell by date tomorrow.

My mom used to struggle with the dentists chair Flo…I guess the angle is made to make their work easier for them seeing as they are bending over all day?

Hope everyone’s aches and pains etc settle down quickly xx

                            • So glad to see your grandson is making good progress Flo, news like that will give you a lift

Good afternoon, managed to get an appointment with the practise nurse at the surgery yesterday, when asked what was wrong I told her that I had a sore hip, when asked if I have had any slips or strains recently, I told her, "no nothing which would cause this problem, I have even moved my wallet to my other pocket" she carried on writing then started laughing when it dawned on her what I had said, so that brightened up the day a bit , anyway I have to phone tomorrow to arrange for an X ray she also provided me with a prescription for pain killers whixh do seem to be helping a bit, as unfortunately as when OH asked how I felt this morning I made the mistake of saying I was fine, which lead to her saying good we can go for some messages, strangely enough I just got into the first shop when I had to tell her my hip was very sore, for some reason she just didnt believe me after doing the shopping we visited our friend where I sorted a table for her, OH wanted to know why the hip wasnt sore now, but as I told her it was still very sore but I just worked through the pain, I got the distinct impression she didnt believe me, again, anyway now back home I'm going to get the feet up and have a rest before making the tea, after which I need to take one of the grandsons over to his youth club as his mum and dad have a parents night at the school, so have a pleasant evening and smile
