  • Good Morning All Very windy here, but sunny. Have a good day

    • Good morning all.

It's sunny here at the moment, but with a howling wind. The rain isn't due to start until about 4pm.

I'm happy to hear that we're heading back towards Summer again now. I absolutely hate the dark evenings that seem to start just after lunchtime some days.

I need to organise a time between now and Christmas Eve when I can go a few miles down the M1 and meet up individually with my sisters to give them the presents for their families. (They don't actually speak to each other, a long saga, that I refused to get involved in!)

For now, I'll just top up my caffeine levels.

Nothing like having a nice bit of ‘Snoggy Stuff’ to hand in case of emergencies!

        • Good morning all. Bright and breezy here. Lots of last minute bits and bobs to be done around the house so I dont need to go out today. The traffic crazy so I'm glad not to have to get caught up in it,
Have a good dsy whatever your up to.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

          • I've just had a BRILLIANT idea. When I see my youngest niece, who has just left home and bought her first house, I think I'll ask her if she wants any of my kitchen stuff that I don't use any more. Such items as an ice cream machine and pasta maker, which are still taking up space in the back of a cupboard.

            • Back again.

Another unexpected delivery. Cheese and wine. Two of my favourite things! They arrived in a well insulated box, with the enclosed freezer pack still half frozen.

Flo we’ve now got gusty winds so the laundry’s going on the line using hurricane pegs. It’ll either be dry or in next doors garden

                • I did consider doing some bedding Bren, but decided against it. The wind is so strong here I think they'd only be wound around the lines!

                  • Good afternoon, cold, wet and strong gusts if wind today so definitely wont be going out to the garden, well other than to feed the birds, they are going through the feeding almost as quick as a woman goes through a box of chocolates😁 I bought my OH a pair of warm dress gloves and I dont know what I have done with them and when I look for them all I get is "what are you looking for" next thing she will be telling me to take a duster with me , she is watching some program on the telly just know so that gives me a bit of time to go hunting. Enjoy the day and keep passing on the smiles

                        • Probably a loss leader - like bread- to entice you to buy yet another something or other from nearby shelves?

                          • Afternoon all.

Extremely late on parade. Got a bit held up this morning, what with seeing friends and the sourdough class at the Gardeners Rest (thanks for helping out, Bren ), followed by a final shop before the holidays. Too much excitement for one day already!

LD, I bet you didn't actually need the mistletoe... But always nice to have it in case an excuse is required. Hope you had a lovely time.

                            I bought a 400 g bag of parsnips today, €1.59; a medium-sized savoy cabbage, €2.29; Brussels sprouts €3.29 for 500 g; and carrots the cheapest I've seen them since before Covid, €1.09 a kilo.

Right, time to get the range going and perhaps a bit of quick bread on the go. We forgot to buy any while out and Mr Snoop is having conniptions at the idea of no bread in the house.

                            Have a lovely evening, everyone.
