Even more of a queue this morning - they must be getting there before it opens! I will have to have a re-think.

Good morning all.
I'd only just got up and was making coffee when a van came into our cul de sac, and a guy with a grin as big as the Amazon logo got out and waved cheerily. Yes, my naughty online purchases from yesterday..... just a couple of stocking fillers.
I can go out and do all my errands now. I am going nowhere near the city centre and/ or large supermarkets today although I do need to top up on milk yet again before Christmas. I don't know how two people get through so much. I think we average "a pinta, per person, per day", as the old TV advert used to recommend. I never touch the untreated stuff though after being seriously ill with both Scarlet fever and Brucellosis when I was younger.
Flo, do you have other options, other than the drive through? We're lucky as we can usually have them at a pre-booked appointment at our local surgery. Back in the days when we used to have to have them at the hospital it was a nightmare half day job and I'm sure the phlebotomists were trained by the Gestapo.
I made my fruitcake, which is for a present, yesterday afternoon, but I really ought to make another as we have only a small piece of ours left. ..... again. The joy of Mr GF getting his appetite back! Well, I suppose a chunk probably counts towards his 5 a day!

I usually have them done by appointment at the Practice, but couldn't have one because two of the phlebotomists are off sick! The nearest hospital walk in is a nightmare for traffic and parking. Oh for the days when I could just go down a flight of stairs to the best needlers in Sheffield!Granny on the Game in Sheffield

Good afternoon, had a busy day yesterday , church in the morning, then just finished lunch when I got a phone call to let me know that part of a tree at the church manse had been snapped of by the strong gusts of winds we were getting, and it was blocking part of a road, fortunately theres only about twenty houses using the road so not a major problem, but it still needed to be cleared, fortunately one of the other church members has a chainsaw, so got it cut up and cleared within three hours, after hat it was tea then out to the evening service, so all in all quit a busy day
This morning was up at our sons before he headed out with hes family, it was his oldest sons birthday so we wanted to see him before they set off for the day, after that we had some pre-ordered stuff to pick up at two different farm shops, though inbetween the two farms we called in at a Tesco shop for a couple of things but oh boy the queue at the tills, fortunately being a married man I have patience as I am used to waiting now that I am back home that will be me in the house till Friday, most definitely wont be out on the road tomorrow. Anyway have a good evening and remember to pass on your smilesit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Good evening all.
Spent the afternoon washing all the glasses, dishes and cutlery that will be used over the next few days.
Sorting out table mats, serviette and other festive table decorations.
Off to visit the Gardeners Rest to see if there is any festive fun to be had.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Evening all. Got my bloods done ok but as my consultant didn’t phone me until late in the day I’ve to call the hospital first thing tomorrow to make sure my treatment has arrived before I head up for 10am. So yes Nicos, treatment tomorrow, happy Christmas me!! lol
Went to M&S this morning for a couple of things. They were making you queue outside and letting you in a few at a time. Once in the shelves were half empty. Never seen them like that before.
Anyhoo, off for an early night. Enjoy the rest of your evening.sigpic

Mornin n’alln’all
Damp, dull and drizzly here. Even the chooks stayed inside once their automatic door opened!
More contacting of people today and a few food preps for tomorrow.
Our neighbours came over with a load of oysters for us ( traditional Xmas Day food). Far too many in all honesty so most will be frozen.
Very generous eh?
So a very quiet day on the books for me.
Hearing you all talking about fighting your way through hoards of shoppers, I took some photos yesterday lunchtime of our largest hypermarket . Always the same at lunchtimes but even two days before Xmas you would have expected a few more shoppers!Last edited by Nicos; Today, 09:06 AM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good morning.
I set off to pick up our prescriptions from the chemist's yesterday. It was so busy that I couldn't even park nearby. I'll try again today as I go past. We've got enough medication to last us through Christmas, so if it's mad again today I'll pass.
According to my list of jobs the only other thing left for today is to deliver some presents to my family in a nearby town and if one of the big supermarkets looks empty on my way back I might just go see if there are any bargains to be had before they close ..... not that I "need" anything.
Nicos, I cannot believe that supermarket. WOW!!!

Morning all.
We try and shop at lunchtime too and shops are often empty, but not at this time of year. Also 10 fruit and veg for 99 cents! I'm positively jealous. A single leek costs more than that here.
Not sure what's on the cards for today except cooking and a dog walk. I was putting it off till the weather warmed up, but it doesn't look like it's going to. Yesterday they promised us bright sunshine... Mr Snoop is off into the village to visit the chemist's. And now it's time for me to light the range, I think, not only to warm me and Missie up but also my sourdough starter.
Have a great day, everyone.
