Afternoon all,have had a much better productive day,thank goodness,cut my hair,done the kitchen steam moped the 3 floors,and just come back from shopping,i was amazed the car was defrosted,have got some extra milk in,some off crimbo is out the way apart from the tree,do that tomorrow then back in the box into storage,and cut the cards up for writing notes on,i mus t also get the vacume out ,last night i gave my plants a make over,cleand the leaves,amazing what muck gets on them,plus a little feed,hope it continues,the main thing i need now is a really good night sleep

Evening All. Still freezing here. Thanks for all your good wishes. After consultation with Harry's specialist in Middlesbrough he has two chest drains and they're trying to identify the infection. I've not heard anything this afternoon so I'm assuming no news is good news. Enjoy your evening

Flo, I hope all is going OK. Worrying uses so much energy, and makes you feel so awful. Just sending you all my positive thoughts.

The weather forecast for tomorrow night onwards is pretty horrible. Plenty of snow and ice in the offing. I did say to Mr GF that maybe I'd buy a few "essentials" tomorrow. Considering there are already 5 litres of milk and ½ a litre of cream plus assorted veg in the fridge what else do I really need. There's also plenty of meat and fish and more veg and fruit in the freezer... and obviously plenty flour, butter, sugar, etc. Maybe just a bit of extra wine .... to add to the wine lake?..... puddle.

Mr GF is even worse than me for stocking up, given half a chance. I think it's his wartime rationing mentality, and these days his eyes are definitely much bigger than his belly.

Blue skies and wispy clouds, not quite as cold as the last couple of mornings. Still chilly enough for me to light the range and Missie is having a cuddle to keep warm.

With any luck, I'll have a more productive day than yesterday, which was a total waste of a day. My computer updated and it took hours, plus more time and stress to get things back the way I like them. Everything seems to have done a complete reinstall, as Word thinks I'm a first-time user. Even the Vine was all white. Anyway, all sorted now. I thought update problems were a thing of the past, but clearly not. The only positive thing is that Mr Snoop didn't say (even once) "Have you done a backup?" Better do that today...

Another frosty one, no sunshine though today, the sky is wearing a grey duvet.

GF, thinking back to the days of lockdown, have you checked your loo roll supply?

I'm pretty sure there's a full pack of 18 in the cupboard. The only thing we very nearly ran out of in lockdown was bread flour. I got down to opening my last 3lb bag. I also posted my sister some yeast as she couldn't get hold of any.

Very frosty start to the day here…has anyone got settled snow yet?

Not quite sure what today will bring…plenty to choose from though- probably best start with packing away the Xmas decorations, although I may leave the trees until tomorrow. One final evening with the lights on.

Te he…talking of loo rolls - we have 5 toilets chez moi, and each one probably has a pack of 8/9 ..plus my back up store of a large pack of 24
I think we could cope with being snowbound and a very bad dose of ‘upset tummy’ for at least a few weeks!
