  • Glad to hear about Harry, Flo. Fingers crossed he carries on the same direction. Thinking of you. x

Edited to add: those crackers are easy-peasy, Flo. The most difficult bit is rolling them out and that's not hard. The fact that you don't have to cut them with cookie cutters or separate means they can be made in next to no time.

    • Morning all. It's sleeting here, hope it doesn't turn to ice on the streets.

Good to hear Harry is improving, Flo, slow but steady. It must be traumatic for him and all the family.

Haven't had my morning cuppa yet, and I must put some food out for the early birds too.

      • Good morning.

I've been awake for hours. It feels cold. The central heating has already clicked on. The forecast is for more snow this morning. I hope not. We've still got lots left and it now looks dirty, and semi-slushy.

I must be "officially" old! My young female neighbour, the one who made me feel like a dinosaur when she commented a couple of months ago, "YOU have internet?, cleared all my paths of snow yesterday. I think I'll make her a cake.

Unless something urgent comes up I don't really intend going out today. I printed off some photos for an old friend yesterday but I don't need to take them round for him until the snow melts. Just as well as his driveway ends up like a skating rink in this sort of weather. I must admit that I love it when I click PRINT on my phone, and hear the printer, in the next room, start clicking and clacking away. I'm so happy the days of having to buy film, take it to the chemists to get it developed, go back to get the prints, pay for them and then find most of the photos had heads missing, or similar, are over.

I think I'll just nudge the thermostat up before getting up and going to make coffee....

        • The sleet segued into snow, which covered all the cars, but didn't settle on the road, and now it has morphed into rain. I wish the weather would make up its mind....

            • Morning, a chilly -1° this morning but not one bit of snow, sleet or even rain! 🤷🏻‍♀️
Just a quick visit as popping out for bloods ahead of treatment on Wednesday.
Hope Harry continues to improve Flo, thinking if you all.
Ok, better get my skates in. Catch you later. x

              • Mornin n’alln’all

Very wet and gusty here. Glad we don’t have snow here though….which is unusual for me to say that….but we had enough back in early December…and with the electricity cut for a couple of days , I feel we’ve had our share of winter.
Keep warm and safe everyone…so no slipping and falling please!

Christmas chez moi is back in the boxes….just need to take down the outside tree lights and that’s all done and dusted for us.
Doesn't the house feel open and light again though?

More domestic goddess ‘stuff’ for me. Might manage to distract myself though into a bit of a sorting/ donating mode …which can only be a good thing!

I’m popping my remaining mince pies in the freezer Bren….mainly to avoid temptation, but I do enjoy them in the summer with a big blob of vanilla icecream!

Enjoy your day peeps…and remember to pass on that smile!

                  • Good morning all. Minus 2 here but the sun is shining.
We had sleety rain all day and night yesterday so it's clear at the moment.
Domestics today and getting back to normal.
Flo, I hope Harry continues to improve.
                    Stay upright...and warm today.

                      Hope Harry's doing OK, Flo.

Dull and drizzly here but not as cold as it has been. Not warm mind. We've got hunters and their dogs in the valley, so a good excuse to stay stuck indoors. Plenty to keep me busy in any event.

                      Have a great day, everyone.

                      • They do say you can get all four seasons in one day in Scotland, well I can see all four in the sky at the moment. Blue sky, strong winds trying to rain and snow all at the same time and it's 3 degrees.

                        • Good Morning All Harry's still got one chest drain, but the infection seems to be clearing up The snow is melting here, but the roads are a mushy mess. I've had to rearrange a dentist appointment and a repeat blood test, both scheduled for this morning. My son couldn't get the car out and in any case I wouldn't have risked it, it's so treacherous underfoot. Hope you make yours Jay, I know it's essential for you, mine can wait. Hairdresser tomorrow so I'm hoping it's clear by then. Have a good day

Christmas is back in its box, the cards have either been cut up to make shopping lists or left in my craft room for test stamping. A bit of shopping today but that's it for outdoors.

wrap up warm and enjoy your day

                              • Morning all.

Sunshiney and cold. I'd rather have it that way than mild but wet. The blackbirds are chasing each other round the garden instead of sharing the food I put out, meanwhile the wood pigeon is scoffing it all.
Nothing planned for today except a good walk, though the footpaths will be horrendously muddy after 300+ runners ran the local club's annual x-country race around them. They were bad enough before, as more houses are built around the village, more and more people are walking them, and you can't walk on Leicestershire wet clay without creating a quagmire.
