  • ^Looks to be genuine, LD, but better talk to your boiler service man to be on the safe side. In the meantime, here are a couple of links explaining what's happening:

    https://www.energy-uk.org.uk/custome...-need-to-know/

Looks like it's worth getting in touch with your energy supplier soon to set the whole thing in motion.

      • We have been going into charity shops a lot lately, not to buy anything, we are having a serious de-clutter. We have boxes in the loft that have been there over 20 years, some have been un opened from when we moved into out previous house 4 years before that and even from 12 years before that. Safe to say we do not need the contents. Kids clothes and toys, who are now parents themselves, even found a tub with their milk teeth in.......................the tooth fairy didn't take them and no we didn't donate those to the charity shop(kinda surprised the kids didn't want them either lol).

        • Thanks Nicos and GF for the recipe, much appreciated!
Was there also a fruitcake made using tea or am I imagining that?

          • Jay, my sister sent me this recipe a couple of weeks ago and said it is good. She just uses basic tea to make it.

            • Oh thanks GF, will give it a try. Off to see granddaughter next week but will try it when I get back. 😃

Morning all, positively balmy this morning at -3° with snow forecast and looking at the sky I think we may get some.
Hope you have a lovely day. x

              • Good morning everybody

It's yet another cold one here, -4°C at the moment. The car never attempted to defrost itself yesterday.

I did well with deliveries yesterday. My niece got her Morello cherry tree, my brother on law got his Amazon parcel and my Asda online shop arrived. First time for an online shop. It was only a few things to last until the thaw, but they didn't send a chicken, as they didn't have any. This was what I was planning to cook and eat this weekend. However a lot of the things I ordered are heavy: milk, beer, wine, etc. I think I will do an online shop again for heavy things. I can't believe I only paid £3.25 for them to get all my stuff together, and deliver it to my front door.... in this weather.

Yesterday afternoon I made a Paradise slice. I only made a half recipe as I didn't know how good it would be. I also made it in a round wrong sized pie dish. It was definitely undercooked, but regardless of that, was one of the most gorgeous things I've eaten. The best way I can describe it is a bit like a Bakewell tart, but far nicer.

Yet again, I don't foresee us going out today. Too cold and far too slippy. We are, however, due to have no minus temperatures next week. Yippee!!

                • Morning

Another icy cold day -5c earlier, no plans to go out but plenty of hobbies to keep me occupied.

Burnie I think we're all guilty of storing items and not giving them another thought. We've lived here for 40 years and seem to have toys from our kids and grandkids that they wished to keep, things like Lego and Brio train tack that never go out of fashion.

wrap up warm and enjoy your day

                  • Mornin n’alln’all

Off out to get some butter soon - just waiting for the frost/ ice to melt a bit more on the roads …I’m really fancying making lemon curd and fruit cake.

Very nippy here still but the sun is really trying to break through.

No real plans apart from that this weekend. I guess I should take a quick peek at the ‘Urgent jobs which should have been done months ago’ list

Enjoy your day peeps…has anyone still got lots of snow?

                    • Good Morning All Sunny here with clear skies. Lots of snow still and side road is icy. My middle GG got stuck yesterday and had to call her partner and her poppa to push the car out. If she had let me know she was coming I would have told her not to attempt the side road! No plans today, just pottering. Have a good day
