Good morning. Still very cold, but the temperature has just crept above zero and the sun is shining.

So quick, easy .... and yummy.

I have just booked my second online shop. Usually once a month I visit the biggish Sainsbury's. Never the vast one, as it is too big and in the wrong place. However I've just decided that I'll do this shop online, and add all the heavy stuff to it: tins, bottles, bags of flour, sugar etc. Of course, the theory was that "goodies" wouldn't hijack my trolley. 🤫🫣 Wrong!

It is so weird to see big gaps in my freezer at the moment. My cupboards have also never looked so bare.

Last night I spent a fruitless half hour searching for one of Mr GF's hearing aids that he suddenly realised was missing. I searched everywhere.... I'd given up. He went to get into bed. It had been caught up somewhere in his clothes and fell on the floor. Hopefully, he is going for a hearing aid appointment tomorrow in the city centre. .... if the snow and ice has thawed.

Used to love home made jams and preserves, but after a brush with type 2 diabetes(yes even more health woes), I have to seriously ration sugar intake. I failed my mot at the doctors, but with diet and exercise I have lost almost 20 kilos and am a mere slip of a lad now, but most important out of the diabetes range and no need for medication. Just takes hours to shop checking the sugar content of everything I eat.

Good day all,late up again,looks much better outside,i have a bit off domestics to sort,as and when i feel like it,this colder weather makes one lazy,i have however been enjoing doing online free jigsaws,i also like word games,it all keeps the brain working,i have lots off real jigsaws,but now where to lay them out,as thats when i need to use that space,or to cold in another,plus no stress on my back leaning over,that lemon curd sounds very rich,it is great on here when different things are shared,not just garden or cooking,it opens up the mind and eyes,to new things,right off to get my first coffeee of the day,well done Burnie,

My house now smells of tea bread
I only have a 1lb cake tin so I used that and made three large muffins with what was left over.
I guess we’ll be trying those as soon as they cool down- with butter

Amazingly, I can actually see through the car now, back to front! Thare is still snow on the top and bonnet however and on the ground.

I've just has an email from my "little" brother in Australia. He, and his wife, have now eaten and enjoyed both their Christmas puddings.🙂

I now weigh the same as I did 30 years ago and as a bonus a lot of old clothes fit again lol.

Burnie, that is a tremendous achievement. Well done you. Just as well you kept all your old clothes! I'm hoping some of my old ones will fit me at some point...

As for eggs, we have two and a half dozen. So not as bad (or good depending on your viewpoint) as you, Nicos. Still plenty. Mind you, the irony of making lemon curd, involving lots of sugar and butter, so as to save calories on white only omelettes isn't lost on me!

Snoop/Nicos - do your cats ever nip you with their teeth? I'm still trying to work out whether Lord Ginger is being playful. Last night he walked along the sofa to my head and after running his head on my hair, he gave my ear a nip - not a bite.
