Nicos, thank you for the tips on freezing lemons. Do you have to prick the skin before microwaving? (Vision of exploding lemon?)

Morning
Foggy here today so a big change from yesterdays sunshine.
Most of my tins and bun trays were my Mums they're blackened and don't look to pretty but they never stick, I've passed most on to our daughter she does more baking than I do now days. Other favourite tins are some Hovis bread tins perfect size for a carrot cake.

Morning all.
Very cold in the night and now very cloudy. Snow still at 900 metres, so with any luck the clouds will pass on by, though they're looking a bit stuck. Better make getting a replenished supply of kindling and firewood a priority.
Loads of work to get through today but that hasn't dampened my good mood.

As for lemons, I could try freezing some. No microwave to thaw them, though. I threw a mouldy one out yesterday, but it is a rare occurrence. Spare lemons are a good excuse to make cake... But I mustn't get ahead of myself, as I'm determined to make a Paradise slice this weekend.

Good morning
The car is frozen .... again, but the temperature has just sneaked above freezing and the sun is out.
Mr GF has got an appointment at the doctor's surgery for his ears syringing at lunchtime. His brother's question was " Why can't they just broddle a skewer straight through?
For non- Yorkshire folk:
Most of my baking tins are ancient, from car boot sales, as one of my sisters managed to get first dibs on my mum's and grandma's.... and then sold some on Ebay.

Good morning all, the su is shining g and the sky is blue, what more could I ask for.
Grory hop this morning and thrn a trip to the post office.
The laundry is out so hopeful,y a good drying day,
I put my lemons in the fridge box and have never had a problem with them going mouldy.
I also slice, and freeze some to put in drinks.
Making fruit cakes my mother told me always to tie brown paper around the outside of the tin.
I dont bake much any more do gave my tins to my grandaughter.

Good day,not long got up,why do i need so much sleep ,anyhow,sunshine a hint off blue in the sky,but cold,thanks for the lemon tips,maybe try slice some and use to infuse hot water with ginger for a drink,will give it a try,have done it in the past with mint,it is refreshing and so different from the ready made bags,my mind is now running away,thinking about some cool summer drinks,i had better shake a leg,and sorted for my tea dance group,ref paper on the cake tops,I put a few layers like around the sides,it does not in contact with the cake,but sits on top off the paper on the outside,do not let it float free if using a fan oven,as it can get blown off,i used to make sure the upper oven shelf helped keep it where you want,i have made sure it safe as not want to cause a fire,as for the old tins,so pleased i am not the only one,they look awfull,but bake better,and keep out the dish washer,only by hand,and dry in the oven,especially the yourkshire putting ones,have a lovely afternoon,and best off luck with your furry friends FF,safe travel NicossigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these
