That looks so delicious, GF. Has it replaced the Aldi croissants as Mr GF's favourite?

Morning all.
Another cold, dull day. Proper rain forecast later on, not just drizzle.
Did some doom shopping last night and purchased some jars suitable for canning just to get a feel for the supplier. In the meantime, I'll use some for the preserved lemons and perhaps some mincemeat. I know it's not the season, but I love it in apple crumble or baked apples.
Right, I've got rather a lot of work to get through today, as per, so better get a move on.
Have a great day, everyone.

Morning
A misty start to the day with rain this afternoon, so not a very nice day to be out and about.
I love anything using mincemeat its a pity you can't buy jars during the rest of the year. I know I can make my own but its convenient to just grab a jar.
Enjoy your day

Good morning all.
Chilly and miserable here. I've just had a supermarket delivery of heavy stuff (and a few sneaky goodies).
Snoop Puss, what is doom shopping? My mind is boggling. (In my younger days I used to play a "shoot 'em up" computer game called "Doom".
I might go out shopping for meat, fish and veg later. As I've stocked up on sea salt I might also start some preserved lemons off too.
Have a good day everybody. Keep warm!

Morning all.
Grory hop this morning, then nothing much planned.I might make some paradise slice, GF's looks so delicious. Reading through the various recipes, I've realised that my Modern Cookery (circa 1948) has it as individual tarts but without fruit, and called congress tarts. I've often made them, so I'm sure they are even better as a traybake with added fruit.
My mum had a home eye test on Monday, then a home hearing test on Tuesday. My goodness! It was so easy to arrange, and both were very professional assessments, with all the tests you expect, but with amazing portable equipment. And all done in Mum's comfy armchair. No stress or worry about getting to an appointment. Nothing more can be done for her sight, sadly, as she has macular degeneration, but she will be getting 2 new hearing aids in two to three weeks, to replace the old ones she has.
If anyone is thinking of having these tests done at home, I would certainly recommend itLocation - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

Good morning all.
Not too bad a night's sleep. It's 4°C and raining here. I've just slipped out of bed and turned the central heating up a few degrees.
Hopefully the hairdresser is coming at lunchtime. She cancelled when we had the bad snow. Mr GF is starting to look quite Einstein-ish.
After she's been I think I'll go shopping. I'll go in search of some nice sausages as I really fancy sausage and mash with lots of onion gravy today. For some reason, we haven't had it for ages.
