Hubby is gone grocery shopping ad I am feeling under the weather and have ended up on medication.
Our whole country is under a red weather warning starting early in the morning.

I have eventually been shopping. I feel a lot better today. I actually slept for a practically unheard of 8 hours last night... even after an hour or two in the afternoon.

I must be getting my mojo back as I bought a couple of bags of frozen raspberries to make raspberry jam and also a couple more bags of unwaxed lemons to make more preserved lemons.

I'm just recovering from changing the bed linen. It seems to get harder every time. I was going to make a few pounds of short crust pastry to restock the freezer, but that will be a job for tomorrow now.

Morning all,early for me i know,woke about 4 am,lay there rolling around,so decided to get up,and start the day,No forecasted weather here yet,only rain,

I can hear the wind. I'm still snuggled up in bed with my phone, waiting for the central heating to convince me that getting up is a good idea. It hasn't succeeded yet.

I've got to go to the doctors this afternoon but apart from that the hatches are staying securely battened down. Can you actually imagine being at sea in weather like this?

the wind is getting up here now,but it has been a lot worse in the past,the news looks awful in northern Ireland,said winds off 114 mph,it has gone colder here,do hope all stay safe

As expected the wind woke me up a few times during the night, there was one annoying can I'm sure it was doing laps I've spotted a few things out of place in the garden but that's about it.

Hair cut this morning after that I'm hoping to stay indoors.

I spotted the UK weather forecasts yesterday on Facebook. A record low due. Hope you're doing OK, bramble. Hope your windsock is tied on tight, Bren. And hope you're not too buffeted around in the camper, Nicos.

Supposedly bright today but not. Very still though. I'm guessing all the wind energy is up round your way. Due to be windy here in a few days.

Up early today to make buns for gifts, as I didn't have a crucial ingredient for my usual recipe, which can be left overnight. Anyway, all done, but even I have to admit they're a bit bland. They look the part and they're lovely and light, but flavourless, otherwise I'd put a plate out for everyone. Paradise slice for us this weekend for sure.

Morning all.

Windy and sunny here. It's funny, isn't it, years ago, before all this precise meteorology, we would just have said, "oh, it's a windy day today" and thought nothing of it, but nowadays, because we are told how strong the wind is in mph and are given lots of warnings, it becomes a major topic in the media and the country has to be nursemaided through it.
