Good Morning All I had a lovely time yesterday, despite having to replace a tire after an argument with a pothole, fortunately on the way back!

      • Morning all.

Glad you had nice days, Flo and CG.

I did too but not at all what I'd planned, so got two days of 'stuff' to fit into one. Some things won't get done, inevitably. But better settle down to it.

        Have a great day, everyone.

        • Mornin n’alln’all

Pot hole Flo?…oh dear. That’s one of a few things I’d noticed whilst over here..pot holes, roadside litter, and traffic queues.
Hope the damage isn’t too bad!

Bacon butties for me for breakfast today. Can’t wait!

Helping with DIY again today and maybe a bit of gardening if the rain holds off.

Have a great day everyone. Not had a chance to read back fully yet, but noticed Bramble was OK after the high winds…thank goodness.

          Right…anyone else fancy a bacon butty?…..

            • Good morning all. Well we are back to strong wind and driving rain as I type.
Lottie, the seeds will probably turn up when you stop looking for them.

Potholes, Flo glad it happened on your return journey.

Today will be a chill out day in our house.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

              • Good morning all.

I have done nothing this morning apart from natter on the phone. My brother in law rang first, and then one of my sisters.

I think I'll have a go at making the raspberry jam, with the frozen raspberries later today.

It's 3°C and decidedly murky here at the moment, with a maximum of 5°C and rain forecast for later. It is not enticing me to spend time outdoors. Roll on Spring!

                • Haggis is somewhat tasteless, I prefer Faggots, so I skipped that and just had the Whisky, a rather nice single malt from Islay.
Today I have been gardening, well to be precise I have started chitting the tatties in the conservatory.

You’re right about the amount of pot holes Nicos it’s like driving around an obstacle course, usually there’s no way of avoiding them.

Burnie I’ll check tomorrow if our local corn merchant has their potatoes in, I forgot to look last time.

                    • I got mine from Dobbies, I don't grow that many due to lack of room,, 21 of the Winstons and 8 of the Buster, they look quite decent seeds.

                          • Good morning all.

Is everybody having a lie-in this morning? It's a chilly 4°C and cloudy here with rain forecast shortly.

I should be taking my brother in law to a hospital appointment this afternoon, but he fell yesterday and said he might cancel it, depending on how he feels this morning.

I never got jam made yesterday due to "life" getting in the way. That's maybe on the list for today. I've also got to put our prescriptions in at the doctor's and pick up a birthday present that I've had delivered to the little Sainsbury's local.

I think I'll go load the washing machine next. I'm so grateful for automatic washers. I remember my mother with a single tub and wringers when I was a child. At least it was electric. I lived in fear of the wringers grabbing my hand however, probably because my mother was constantly telling me to stay away from them. However inclement the weather Monday was always washday. If the washing was dry Tuesday was always ironing, until the advent of bri-nylon and crimpelene.

                            • Morning all.

Looks like it's going to be an on-off drizzle-sunshine kind of day. One of our almond trees looks like it's thinking of breaking into blossom soon. Never bears any fruit because it does this every year, well before the frosts are over. Mr Snoop loves this tree because of the early flowers, whereas I wish it wasn't growing where it is, out of the side of the bank of the valley's rain run-off channel, quite close to the house. When it dies, it'll take a whole load of the bank with it.

Several jobs to do today as well as the usual nonsense. Amongst them, call the vet to get Missie spayed. Not looking forward to taking her. She has a life full of wonder and joy and is such a happy cat, trusting with everyone and curious about everything. The vet experience and going around with a cone round her neck will knock her sideways. But she's flirting rather obviously with Frankie, a snipped tom. And I know there are other unsnipped toms, dumped in the countryside I'm sorry to say, in the area. And I don't fancy a load of toms turning up and fighting with Frankie, followed by litters of kittens every year. So, off to the vet she goes. I just have to remind myself that all our other cats have coped, so she will too. But it would be a shame if she were a changed cat. She brings all of us, including Frankie, a lot of joy. Her former 'owner' came round again to see her at the weekend, bringing little tubs of fancy food for her.

Right, that's enough of that sentimentality. Work calls.

                              Have a great day, everyone.

Just hoping the sea will have settled by tomorrow after the storms. I’m going green just at the thought of anything other than millpond conditions
Good luck with Missie Snoop - always sad to see our pets struggling. I have no doubts you’ll be highly entertained by her cone antics though

Funnily enough, today is our 14th anniversary of getting Hibou- just seen some photos of her as a 7 month old kitten…awww….

Enjoy your day peeps..I’m crossing my fingers we may have some flowers out in the garden when we get home!
