Good tips there, GF. I'll bear them in mind. Is that one of those push pans, by the way? 18 cm diameter?
Yes, that's one of the pans. Ideal for a half recipe.

    • I use a deep sprung quiche / cheesecake tin for most cakes which aren’t tray bakes.

I’m really tempted to make that cake soon.
We’ve been told our new oven is ready for delivery , so that would be a great recipe to christen it with!
The only way we can contact the shop is to call in in person…How stupid is that?….we’ve already paid for it. Looks like we’ll be having an outing tomorrow - fingers crossed we can park nearby- otherwise OH will have to drop me off. I do want to go as I want to get some sweet pea seeds from the nearby garden centre. Maybe I could just wait in the car.

            Evening

Bramble I've got a few sweet peas on a spare bedroom windowsill they'll soon be going into the GH till its time to plant them out.

Its been a good day to be out and about here sunny with a slight breeze, so the laundry went out early and it actually dried.

            enjoy your evening.

I think it's my Leicestershire roots, the mention of "cobs" took me back nearly 40 years too, don't hear that anymore unless I say it, which properly confuses the Scots.

Lottie, this is the virus I had for the last week or two...Couldn't get rid of it no matter what I did.
Ended up being referred to emergency doctor.
A course of antibiotics and a 3 day course of steroids helped to get it under control.
I am never Ill but this really floored me.
Think you may need to see a doctor.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Looks OK out there, 5degrees. Dark grey sky is to be in for the day until the wind returns .

                    • Morning

                      A dry sunny-ish day here.

Croissants for breakfast it made a change but I'll be back to my usual porridge or pikelets tomorrow.

The usual mix of domestics and gardening unless something else crops up.

                      Enjoy your day

                        • Mornin n’alln’all

This morning started out with a heavy frost ( -2C ) and really thick, heavy fog.
The sun has burned through most of it but it was lovely to see.

I may do a bit of weeding this afternoon- that , or cutting back the bay tree. I usually make several Christmas wreaths with them but just couldn’t get motivated this time. Seems such a waste . I’ll hang most up to try and use them on the bbq/ firepit in with the wood in the summer .

Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning Lottie? I think my daughter and her family have come down with something similar. Sounds an incredibly nasty virus x

Anyone fancy a brew for elevenses? I’d offer you cake but I don’t have any

Enjoy your day peeps- keep warm and safe xxx
