I nearly wrote fingers crossed it all goes well, but that doesn't seem quite right, Rary. Anyway, best of luck. Thinking of you.

Snoop, maybe shavings of parmesan over the top of the soup.
I've now made the raspberry jam with the frozen raspberries. It set easily, 7 minutes, and Mr GF has already given it the thumbs up. The frozen raspberries in the bags were very bitty, but as I was going to mash them up anyway, it really didn't matter. I think raspberry jam is our absolute favourite.

Rary, your in my thoughts this afternoon...hope all goes well for youl.
What a miserable day, it never stopped raining.
Yes Nicos, the clothes are still stuck in the washing machine...there is a little water so hopefully this might keep them from going mouldy.
My son in law used to work in electrical repairs so I have asked him to come by tomorrow to see what he thinks.
Have a good evening all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Mornin n’alln’all
Heavy frost here this morning.
Hope your SIL sorts out your washing machine bramble- that’s a long wait so far for the repair guy.
Glad the jam worked out gf.
Rary - hope you managed to find somewhere comfy to rest your arm and you got some sleep last night?
For me….Two new tyres on the car this morning, and apart from that, I’m hoping we’ll manage more gardening.
Have a great day peeps and pass on that smile

Good Morning AllShowery here. Himself is still sleeping so no cup of tea in bed for me today. He's got an abscess in his mouth. He looks like he's done a few rounds with Mike Tyson! We managed to get antibiotics from the GP, but he had a bad night, so I haven't disturbed him this morning. Lord Ginger iis here already. Have a good day

Morning all.
It's drizzly here today. I put some oats on the ground for the blackbirds and robin, and next time I looked out of the window there was a fat rat eating them. They get under next door's shed, which is huge, and don't come out in their garden as they have nothing but artificial turf and gravel, plus a lurcher. I guess I'll have to deal with it/them. They appear when there has been a lot of rain, flooded out of their old homes I suppose, but I don't want them in my tiny garden.
Rary, hope the op went well and Mrs Rary is looking after you, and who knows, maybe spoiling you a bit?Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Good morning all.
It's only 2°C here and misty, murky, gloomy too. Just plain miserable. I really struggled to get any sleep last night, but at least I resisted online retail therapy. According to the forecast we may get sleet/snow from midnight onwards.
I was convinced that it was Sunday when I got up. I then got confused when I saw the postie walking round the close.
I rang my brother in law last night to ask him what his cleaner thought of his new vacuum cleaner. Evidently she is very impressed. Mind you, I have no idea what ancient contraption he was using before, although I do know it was one of his late sister's cast offs.
I'm going to put James Martin on TV shortly to see if he gives me any culinary inspiration this week.
Rary, I hope your operation went well and you're not in too much pain.
Bramble, I hope you manage to rescue your washing eventually.

Afternoon all.
Sorry about this guys - we're having lunch with friends outdoors today. Breeze is a bit too chilly for a t-shirt, but lovely to sit out in the fresh air.
All we're doing today is cooking and eating, plus washing up afterwards.
Hope Mr Fennel's antibiotics kick in soon. That's a horrible thing to suffer from.
And glad you're starting to recover properly, LD.
Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

That sounds fantastic Snoop! Enjoy!
We worked on clearing the new patio and one of the borders yesterday, plus the ‘pond’ feature. A quick jet wash in a couple of weeks and a few bedding plants and it’ll look really inviting for eating out .
Loads more to do in the area- that’s our outdoor project Part 2 this year.
We took our car for its new tyres…slowly wandered around the nearby second hand shop to fill in time, only to be told the wrong tyres had been delivered..so we have to go back again next week. What a waste of a morning.
However, on the way home, OH bought a nice big chunk of belly pork and a special salt and is now preparing it to turn it into bacon. Yum.
Did you find anything at the charity shop Bren? I spotted a really lovely set of 7 old, heavy copper pans for sauces( about 10cm in diameter) but they were 60€. I don’t need them and already have one I hardly ever use so they weren’t enough of a bargain to buy.
Sorry to hear about your OH Flo - that sounds incredibly painfulSpeedy recovery x

It does indeed sound lovely Snoop, I'm cold here even with the heating at full blast. Pity about your wasted trip Nicos, but well done resisting the pans. My youngest GG brought me tulips and daffs today. She brings me fresh flowers every week and today brought ice cream for her granddad, knowing his demise!
I must confess I'm feeling a bit down today. As you know, we lost our daughter 3 years ago next month and my Son in Law told me he has started dating again. I knew it would happen, but it's still hard to come to terms with. Just wanted to unburden - sorry
