  • Aww Flo - that really must be difficult for you. At least he’s being upfront with you about it.
It doesn’t mean he’ll ever forget your lovely daughter - he’ll always hold a special place in his heart for her.
I can’t imagine what it must be like to lose one of your children- whatever their age- but just the thought is making me well up.
Have a good cry if you need to, and when your OH is up to it, maybe go and do something special in her memory? I’m sure you have so many happy memories to relive xx

    • Good afternoon, and many thanks for the very kind wishes girls, I got the procedure carried out under local anaesthetic, of course with that you can hear all the comments from everyone, after being told by the surgeon it should only take about ten minutes once he applies the tourniquet, so once he had given me the anaesthetic and carried out the tests to make sure there was no pain the tourniquet was applied, and he started the procedure checking all the time that there was no pain, unfortunately I did get some, felt as if there was a nerve touched unfortunately he had to administer three further doses and each time he had to wait two minutes which of course extended the time, being a local anaesthetic you can hear all the comments, one of them being " thats the worst of these big hands they take more anaesthetic than normal", however the job got done I am most grateful for it, hopefully the next hand will be a bit easier, so again to those who sent me their kind wishes and also those who had their fingers crossed for me , I thank you very much and pass you all my smiles

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Good evening all.
What a miserable gloomy day..a mist of rain and we had the light on early.
WELL, finally got an email saying the engineer will call on Monday.
Meanwhile, my S in L came by...after a lot of trying different things, he got the door of my washing machine open.
He reset it and it is still malfunctioning...taking in water even though its set to spin and drain.

Flo, so sorry to hear your feeling down, but its so understandable.
My sister lost her daughter and has never got over it.
Having said that, she has never been forgotten and I am sure it will be the same for your daughter.

                    • Morning

Take care Rary and remember you need to rely on others and rest for a while.

Snow and sleet here this morning so not a good day to be out and about, hopefully I'll be spending the day indoors.

                      Enjoy your Sunday.

                        • Mornin n’alln’all
Sunny but frosty here this morning.
Can you smell bread baking?…that’ll be my OH trying out his new baking stone and two new oval proofing baskets in our new oven.
He was up much earlier than me so decided to make yeasted bread and a couple of Irish soda loaves.

Well done to your SIL rescuing your washing bramble…and fingers crossed it’s a simple job to sort out tomorrow.

We have several dry days forecast of dry and sunny weather, so once the frosts are melted I’m hoping to make the most of clearing up some of the flower beds. OH is working on the veggie beds.
Anything collected is tipped onto a pile of composting weeds etc from previous years so that insects can continue to over winter in the leaves or hollow , cut back, stems. We do ,however , still leave some leaves on the soil surface as insulation but 8” deep is a bit much! I guess that’s what comes of living next to deciduous woods.

Hope the snow doesn’t stick again Bren- is it likely to? At least you have your lovely greenhouse to potter about in!

I forgot to bring my bag of potting compost indoors last night for it to warm up, so I’ll be potting on my chitted sweet peas tomorrow instead. Might as well give them a good start

Enjoy your day peeps- what’s everyone else up to?

                          • Morning all.

                            Thinking of you, Flo.

And you too, Rary. Hope you're doing OK post-op.

No leaf mould collecting from our forests. Big fine if the forestry agent catches you or spots it.

Good luck to Mr Nicos with the new oven.

Chilly start to the day today, but yesterday was absolutely glorious in the end. Definitely t-shirt weather.

Not much on the cards for today except catch up with washing up. And try and get a nap in at some point.

                            Have a great day, everyone.

Rary, hope your hand is not too sore.
