  • Good morning all.

It's a chilly 1°C outdoors here, but I am happily cocooned in the duvet. Despite being wide awake, I'm in no hurry to get up yet. As long as I don't let the idea of coffee dominate my thoughts all will be well.

I've just had a weird dream where I had to get up at the crack of dawn and catch a bus to school. I was so happy to wake up and find I didn't have to go.

    • Mornin n’alln’all

-1C here gf …kettle’s on …* passes gf her coffee
Te he…that was a funny dream!

Bit of an achy back this morning which is normal after gardening but I’m really chuffed that my knee isn’t complaining too much! So all set for another few hours in the garden once it’s defrosted and warmed up a bit.

We have a friend coming over today or tomorrow to help with cutting back the bramble hedge before the birds start nesting.
The farmer did his side last week , so we need to crack on with ours. I’m quite proud of it to be honest as we’ve encouraged it to grow along a long stretch of wire fencing. Looks nice ; provides us and the wildlife with food - and nectar , and is a safe place for the wildlife to nest or hide in.

More pottering jobs about the house for me. I’m going to sort through some books for charity. I’ve far too many and there is a shop selling both English and French ones for 1€ in our local town. I doubt I’ll be tempted to buy any…but ya never know

I have sweet peas to pot on and the ironing board certainly needs an outing as I’ve successfully ignored it so far.

So..it looks like my day is sorted.

OH made bread in the new oven yesterday and is very impressed with it. Needless to say we kept on munching on it yesterday…mmmm.

All this talk of food- I best get some breakfast sorted!

Have a great day peeps and pass on that smile.

            • Good morning all.dull, but dry at 6 degs.
The engineer has just been and gone, he replaced a part and said the machine should be fine.
Domestics today and a trip to the local grocery store.

Nicos, that bread looks very appetising, I would be eating far too much of it.

A bit of pottering in the garden if it stays dry.
              Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              • Afternoon all.

Another bright day, but temperature much cooler. Drizzle forecast for tomorrow and snow in our local mountains, but what a lovely few days we've had. A respite from winter for sure.

Back to the paid work grindstone for me today as well. Shame, but needs must.

Fingers crossed your washing machine works well, Bramble. And clearly your new oven is a winner, Nicos. Gorgeous looking loaves.

                Have a great day, everyone.

                  • Nicos. Those loaves look amazing. I can practically taste them. Are you going to eat them all yourselves?

I've just been ordering something from Amazon for my brother in law. Far cheaper than buying locally, free delivery tomorrow, and I know it's good quality as I have already bought it for Mr GF.

Good to hear that your washer is working again, Bramble. I hope you get half decent weather to dry the backlog.

Until I had that weird dream this morning I had forgotten just how much I hated getting up and having to catch two buses to school in my teens, particularly in winter, and even worse if we were going to have to endure two awful hours of hockey, wearing next to nothing on the windswept pitch. I hope there's a special area of hell reserved especially for sadistic games mistresses.

It's still only 3°C here, but the murk is starting to clear and I'm hopeful the sun might break through later, as promised.

                      • Middle of February and a dry day so........................................................cut the lawns............................................possibly the earliest I have ever done so, but as snow and rain is forecast for the next two weeks and it needed doing, so today was the day to do it.

                        • Our grass looks as though it needs a cut, but it's far too wet yet. I played hockey for the school and later for college. It's the bruises I remember more than the playing - I was in goal.

                              • Good afternoon Folks, I dont do well with being unable to do things, thankfully we have our sons dog here just now and I can take her for a walk, but its bitterly cold and with my hand being heavily bandaged I cant get a glove on or my hand in my pocket so finish up with very cold fingers I find it awkward to do things as its my left hand thats been done and being left handed everything is a struggle, however as long as I am able to get a nights sleep I can put up with it, hope you all have a pleasant evening and remember to pass on some smiles
