    • Good morning all.

It's sunny, but chilly here. We're not getting into double figure temperatures here today, according to the forecast. I'm just delaying getting out of bed until the heating has worked it's magic.

I've got an online grory hop scheduled to arrive between 10am and 11am.

I thought I'd posted this about 3 hours ago, but no I evidently never clicked "post".

I've got confirmation of my grory hop delivery but ..... none of my favourite blue cheese, no frozen croissants or frozen corn cobs. We used to get Aldi's frozen croissants, but over Christmas, and afterwards, they didn't have any ordinary ones in stock. Mr GF wasn't impressed by their almond ones. Since then, he has been really happy with the Pret ones from Sainsbury's. It looks like I'll be going on a croissant hunt today or tomorrow, when he will run out.

The grey murk is back now, and I don't think rain is far away.

I hope the vet can help your dog, Snoop.

Rary, I hope your hand is healing well. Do you have to go for physiotherapy afterwards? I'm just remembering back to when Mr GF did a pretty good job of trying to amputate his index finger with a circular saw and spent weeks after his op going for physio. Now you can't see a trace of a scar, and the skin graft was amazing. He also has full mobility in it, in fact he can't remember which hand it was. That was when I discovered the Bank Holiday "emergency hand clinic" for DIY disasters.

I think my delivery is here!

      • My youngest GG is coming for tea tonight before she goes book shopping in Meadowhell. She rarely comes to eat and I know this visit is to avoid meeting her poppa's new lady friend who will be at their house for the first time tonight. I did check with my son in law that this would not be the official introduction. She is the quietest of the three girls and the most sensitive, so I can imagine how she's feeling.

                • Morning all.

Raining here too after a very peachy coloured sunrise.

Grory hop today, but not until after a telephone consultation with the doctor about my Mum's blood tests. Can't be anything important as the tests were at the end of January and we've had to wait this whole month for the appt. Comes to something when you have to wait that long even for a telephone consultation!

Hope all the folk under the weather are improving. A bit of sunshine would be more cheering and lift the spirits.

                  • Mornin n’alln’all

                    We have frost again.
I turned the central heating on last night cos I just couldn’t be bothered to get wood in for the fire. So, it’s lovely and toasty in here at the moment So much easier just to flip a switch!

Not sure what today will bring. No set plans so I think if all else fails to distract me in that ‘Jobs wot should’ve been done months ago’ list, then I’ll attack a few more drawers etc for the charity shop.
Maybe clean a few windows too seeing as the sun shining in is starting to embarrass me a tad

Whats everyone else up to today?

                      • Morning

Rain here for the day, so no gardening, plenty to keep me occupied indoors though.

Hope your mums results are ok MH especially after all that time.

                          • Looks like I need to pot on my second batch of sweet peas today- they are suddenly going leggy.
Will probably sow more seeds whilst the pots and compost are to hand.
I know where this is going though…I’ve nowhere to put them indoors - nor frost free outside .. and the last frost here is early June

                            • Good morning all.

A grey, gloomy and cold start to the day. It was only the thought of coffee that enticed me out of bed. I actually slept reasonably well too.

Nicos, I always presumed that sweet peas were frost hardy and used to bung them outdoors, or even plant them outdoors. I've never had a problem. The strongest, best ones "I" ever grew were ones that came up on their own outdoors, where I had grown them the previous year.

CG, the blackbirds here seem to suddenly be running around being busy. Maybe they think spring is in the air.

I've just had a pleasant surprise. The postie knocked on the door. An unexpected small parcel. Last week I told my sister that I was thinking of making some raspberry vinegar. I asked her to send me a copy of my grandma's recipe, that I half remember having on pancakes as a child. She Emailed it to me. But today, unannounced, a box with two small bottles of her homemade vinegar, one raspberry and one cranberry.
