          • Good morning all.

I just use my phone for the grapevine, a Samsung Galaxy. Touch wood, no problems recently.

Another chilly morning here with intermittent sunshine.

Yesterday, while getting our wine glasses out, I realised that they look awful. Although I keep some nice glass ones in the cupboard for when we have visitors, the ones Mr GF and I use mostly, due to constant breakages in the past, with wine and broken glass everywhere, are unbreakable ones (as are our tumblers). The wine glasses have lasted for so long, though, that they are totally scratched and unsightly. It is actually quite hard to find sturdy unbreakable ones. Most seem really flimsy. It's a shame that nobody seems to make them with weighted bases. I have ordered a couple that will probably be okay, that I can pick up in a local shop on Wednesday. Mr GF's "logical" solution is to put more wine in to weigh them down.

For two nights in a row now there has been a hedgehog snuffling around outside at about 11pm. Spring must be around the corner. Maybe it's time to have a look in my wardrobe and see what still fits ready for the warmer weather. On second thoughts, no! Too depressing.

            • Afternoon all. Sorry for the late arrival. And thanks for all the feedback on tablets. Good to know.

Been raining this morning. And very welcome it is. Might get bored of it in a week or so, but I shouldn't complain after all your weather reports. No idea where the smiles have been, Nicos. Maybe making an early visit down south, see if they can catch Bramble?

Got a bit of bread going already, work calls for the afternoon.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

                • I also use a Fire tablet.

I think I've identified my log in timeout issue. Posted fine a few times this morning using the PC but then realised I have the 'remember me' option checked on the PC (which I don't use normally use on the tablet) - so logged out & logged back in without selecting 'remember me'. I then had the same timeout/invalid message/put your password back in messages whilst trying to type a post or like anyone else's posts.

So long story short(er) rary try ticking the 'remember me' box when you log in & hopefully that will stop you getting kicked out too. x

                  • Afternoon all.

Amazingly, just after I'd posted this morning I got a text to say my wine glasses had arrived in my local store already. I went down to the shop (Dunelm) on the edge of the deserted wilderness (city centre), picked them up, and filled up with petrol too. Just to really deter anyone from visiting the city centre, there were roadworks on the ring road..... again. One pleasant surprise was a carpet of crocuses and daffodils in the local park. Last time I drove past there was no sign.

I think the spring flowers and thoughts of better weather convinced me to have a quick look in my wardrobe to see what shorts I've got that might fit for this year. The first thing I found was a brand new pair of unworn cargo shorts, that I like, and that fit perfectly. I presume that I must have bought them in a sale at the end of last summer.

I've got a supermarket delivery due in the morning. I think I'll have a look at what I've ordered next and see if it needs updating. I know the "important" items are on it .....12 pints of milk, blue cheese, wine, butter, cream, croissants and chocolate.

                    • Having ordered 4 new garden chairs and the scarifier I’m postponing my purchase of a 2 wheeled wheelbarrow for now.
I was thinking maybe I could happily cope with two cheaper ,two wheeled ones, instead. Then…..
Having filled up one of my barrows with stone chippings - nice and level- I watched it…in slow motion from a distance…tip sideways as it was on a tiny slope…yup - spilling near enough all the gravel.
Decision made…I’ll certainly be buying a two wheeled one!
