I've got a grory hop being delivered between 10am and 11am. I don't know why I didn't start having it delivered years ago. The only thing they haven't got is one sort of blue cheese, but I'd pre-empted that happening and ordered two sorts anyway. I'm paying £4 a month for a midweek delivery pass, which means I can get deliveries at no extra charge on any Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, up to one a day. I think it's an absolute bargain. No lugging heavy bags around.
My shopping has arrived and is now safely squashed into the fridge, freezer and cupboards.
I think we'll be having basic pancakes again at some point today, with a sprinkle of sugar and some orange to squeeze over, or raspberry vinegar. I must say that I've never really been a fan of American pancakes, even in the USA. I've just googled an Aebleskiver pan and the recipe. I've a feeling Mr GF would take to them in a big way. My pancake pan is just a cheapo Aldi non stick frying pan, which I bought after I nearly broke my wrist attempting to toss pancakes in a cast iron Le Creuset pan a few years ago. I also tend to flip them with a spatula these days.
The sun is now shining. I think I'll get the washer earning it's keep.
Good day all..misty sunshine but its a lovely day.
Just been out in the garden to che k my plants before heading to the airport.
There was a large bumble on my Rosemary bush collecting honey.
Good to see signs of spring.Buds opening on my pl,um tree.
Snoop, yes, we are heading south into a few rainy days but it can't rain forever.
Have a good day all.u
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
Not that I've got much to report. It rained a fair amount yesterday. Plenty more to come over the next two weeks. It's a shame it's not better dispersed throughout the year rather than all at once. But anything is better than nothing. Anyway, make the most of the sun guys. If I'm lucky, it'll be a wet spring, but then I'll be hogging the heat, though I'll be hoping to give that away come July. Never happy, am I?
Afternoon all,sun has been trying but is bloomin cold, had to turn the stat up from 20 to 22,all ok now,yet last night,i did not need it on was fine without, not so good today, feel so so tired all the while, want to sleep, still got the cough and croaks plus bits of tummy and back ache, the good news is,my test for BC cam back negetive, just as i expected,
Bramble have a lovely time, never heard of them pans Nicos, have you tried doing a kake mix in them,or an ordinary yorky batter, just wondered if it would work and whether worth having one,FF nice shape suits you,no pancakes here either as i can have them when ever i like hehee, has a couple the other day, instead off bread,i with cheese the other some ginger jam,not to bad,but i do have a sweet tooth, sky going dull now,Snoop your not alone regards the weather,we all the same,is either to cold or too darned hot for me,we need more off inbetween heheh
Yes, LD, I too noticed Nicos's mention of the aebleskiver pan...
One festive season, I asked Mr Snoop for a waffle pan as he was determined to buy me something and it was the only thing I could think of. A bit of a palaver if you want to make enough fresh waffles for more than two people... It was expensive but I've only used it once. Shameful. Might an aebleskiver pan be more practical, Nicos? You could make takoyaki in it too, (though you'd not catch me eating octopus).
Octopus ugh, would not do if we all liked the same things, there woud be nowt left on land and in the sea, there was a program a cought sight of thinkmit was friday night, they were getting some horrible looking fat worm slug like thing out the sand and eating it uuuuuhhhLD shivers

Mornin n’alln’all
Cold and frosty with the promise of a gloriously sunny day ahead!…yippee
I bought some pansies on offer yesterday - for the pots by the front door, so those will certainly be planted out.
The aebleskiver is also a palaver tbh Snoop. You need to turn the batter in the hollows in turn several times using a chopstick to make the hollow balls.
They look great but you need to have the knack. Which I guess wouldn’t take long with regular use.
Poffertjes are much simpler to make as they just need one flip.
I guess it depends on how much you enjoy standing at the stove ‘fiddling’
Pancakes are super easy in reality- I have memories of standing at the stove with two or three frying pans cooking one after another for friends and family- bit like a scene from ‘ Oliver’ with outstretched plates longing for more. Yeh…. Feeding the 5,000 before I had a chance to have mine( apart from the first rubbish ones from each pan)..te he…actually it was a lovely feeling keeping on going until
everyone was stuffed Funny how everyone used to ask to eat chez moi on Pancake Day! Even neighbour’s kids used to turn up at the door ( having had a couple at home) hoping there were some spare!
Latterly I’d make stuffed pancakes baked in the oven and just a couple of sweet ones for pud.
So…what’s everyone else up to today?…does the dry, sunny spell cover all of the UK?
Whatever you do, enjoy yourselves!
Good Morning Nicos and All My memories of Pancake Day are much the same Nicos, which is why I don't make any! It's a Frank day today, so let's hope that Lord Ginger got the memo Have a good day
Check-up at the dentist for me today, never look forward to that, fingers crossed nothing needs doing, then grory hop on the way home, then a bit of tidying up in the garden. I cut the grass yesterday, even though it was a bit wet. It looks so much better now. Spread some mulch around where I'd weeded too.
Good luck at the dentist MH…why do we always half expect the worst?
I’ve always thought it must be very stressful for dentists having literally everyone coming in in a heightened sense of anxiety. Could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of that stress must rub off on them?
I wonder which job is the polar opposite emotionally?
Florist maybe?
And speaking of flowers…the frost is rapidly melting so I want to get out into the garden soon.
The scarifier is on target to be delivered today, so that’s going to be fun just assembling it!
* wonders what impulse purchase MH will come back with?….go for it gal
