so I shall call in at the GC to get some radish seeds. I'm not very sucessful with them, so this will be a last try, before tossing them over as ungrowable by me. After watching several utoobs about growing them, I suspect I am not sowing them deep enough, either that or they get eaten by slugs before I even see them. I'm also going to try the flour/yeast liquid slug traps.

MH I never do well sowing radishes in the ground instead I grow in plant pots they need to be at least 8inch across, round radishes seem to do fine in troughs. I put them on a table then hopefully they'll be safe from slugs.
We were late up this morning, I'm happy to say, as I was awake for a few hours in the dead of night. It was weird dream time again just before I awoke. I had to lend somebody, whom I didn't like, a dressing gown, as she'd been saturated by a crop sprayer. Where on earth did that come from?
I've just been putting what I think are the final touches to my tomorrow's online shopping delivery. I better have a freezer tidy up next as there's frozen croissants, frozen potato wedges and three bags of frozen cherries on the list.
I ought to put our repeat prescriptions in at the surgery later today.
Reading about lots of you growing radishes, I was just wondering if anyone had ever pickled them? I haven't, but I am considering having a go.
No hot water Flo What about heating? It's a chilly 6°C here and dropping down to zero again tonight.
Must go. The oven is beeping. It's croissant time.
Mornin n’alln’all
Late start for me too.
I’ve never pickled radish, but if I get a glut I sauté them in butter.
Each year I think about leaving some to go to seed. I know Bren pickles the seed pods and I’d love to try doing that.
Do you have the recipe please Bren?
I grow mostly ‘18 day’ radish . They do take a bit longer than that but it does lessen the time for slugs to find them!
Dear me Flo…. Hope you get it sorted quickly
It’s looking warmer, calmer and more sunny outside so I think I’d start a few jobs in the garden. The grory hop can wait but I’ll be needing to go into town very soon.
Enjoy your day peeps

Croissants eaten. I've realised that I don't need to put our prescriptions in today. We've both still got at least a fortnight's worth of tablets left.
At the moment I'm keeping my eye on the light on my router as there's an engineer at the top of the nearest telephone post with a coil of wire, presumably connecting one of the neighbours to fast internet. Past experience has taught me that they sometimes inadvertantly disturb other people's wires .... usually just before a Bank Holiday weekend.
The gas man cameth last week when my heating went off. He did a quick repair, but over the weekend, although the heating is still on, the water got cooler and cooler! Good job we have Homecare and an electric shower or we'd be the great unwashed
I've hung out the bedding but I doubt it will dry it's so dull and hardly any breeze, but at least they'll get an airing.

Nicos this is the recipe I’ve always used. A link to my vine blog.
Where does the time go? I got up with two goals for the day and they're both still on the to-do list.
Better get a move on. But a more pressing job first: light the range. I'm an idiot for not lighting it early. We had heavy snow yesterday - didn't settle for long, fortunately - and a really hard frost this morning. And it's a very chilly day today and I'm sitting here, no fire and the door absolutely wide open. No idea why.
