Oh Flummery, how organised you are! We only buy for the immediate family. This year I have done it all on line (I hate crowds!) The sons and D-I-L 3 for 2 deals (so I'm covered too) Lakeland knives and M&S make up . And a dvd for OH about his beloved Celtic. The grand children have a token pressie each and money. Sorted! Everything is wrapped and the cards (purchased 1/2 price last Jan are ready to go! ) The turkey crown was a mark down in Morrisons the other week. Only 2 years till I retire and then I'll be organised! Tho I made green tomato chutney which I shall give to some of the neighbours. So if there's a cluster of food poisoning in East Yorkshire round Xmas I'm responsible!

I wrote all the cards out last week, today I addressed all the envelopes and stuck stamps on them - may walk up to the post box a bit later on.

I also wrapped all the presents we've bought so far today whilst LadyWayne was doing some baking. A few friends a relatives will receive some of my chutney I made a while back.

We've ordered all the foodie bits from Waitrose for delivery a few days before Christmas (we aren't hosting this year).

At Centre Parcs with the outlaws next weekend when we'll sort out the Secret Santa stuff with them (done my side of the family already).

Brother-in-law helped me get the decorations down from the loft on Friday so we might do them when we get back from Centre Parcs.

Then it's just the waiting game...

Not necessarily - it could be my jam, marmalades or chutneys - made achocha and green tom this year! I'm E Yorks too.

We both messed up last year ... I gave him a list for me, and he thought none of them was a "good" present so he got me entirely different stuff

and I bought him clothes that were the same labels, colours and size that he likes, but because he didn't choose them, he won't wear them.

this year, I have bought my own presents on eBay, and he will give me a cheque for them. My memory is so poor, that I can open them on Xmas Day having totally forgotten what I bought myself

All our adult family members & friends will be getting hamper gifts, but they still need to be assembled, so I count that as wrapping Plus there's a lot of it still to be made - like fudge which doesn't keep, cakes & mince pies that I don't have room for in the freezer... So to get the presents for the 'younger generation' bought and wrapped "Too Early" is a necessity if I am to enjoy Christmas at all & not arrive at the big day as a great big frazzled wreck!! I'm not complaining - this is how I like it, it's all just a gentle build-up, something to look forward to, not a mad frenzy!

Quote by Alison "That makes me sad, I'm big on doing things at the right time and to be all wrapped up this early is like eating strawberries in January to me, out of season."

Sorry haven't figured out the quote thingy yet.

I agree normally, however my work forgot to pay my overtime the previous month, so got 2 months overtime in one go so made sense to use this windfall. (Was debating using for my new greenhouse the OH got for me off freecycle.... :P)

But I must say, when buying for 9 kids, it is refreshing to actually be organised this year. (Bless my missus)
