….”What on earth is that jingling sound?” asked everyone…..

….looking at Rary…….

[Snoop Puss]

Everybody looked at the hunchback's hump. They knew they shouldn't, but they couldn't help it: they were all convinced the sound was coming from there.

[Nicos]

…Rary suddenly blushed. It was unusual for him to look so bashful…..

[Nicos]

“they’re chocolate coins ….honest” he gesticulated….

[Nicos]

“Oooooo” drooled the Grapes gleefully.
Rary instantly realised his mistake and tentatively tried to back out through the door…..unfortunately….

[Snoop Puss]

he tripped over one of Nick's seven-league boots and, as he fell to the ground, his hump split open, revealing...

[nick the grief]

"Is that a giant peach Rary?" Nicos asked ...

"No", replied Rary " my trousers have split and my pants are in the wash and I tripped over these damn boots ... It's a bit draughty with the wind blowing from the urals"

Nicos blushed like a tomato and took another peek then exclaimed ...

“I’ve got just the cream for that!”….and headed off to fetch the first aid box.

In the mean time NTG…..

...was warming his stockinged feet by the fire in the snug, where he'd come to avoid the holly spread over the lounge floor where Nicos and Snoop were busily tying it into festive wreaths, while at the same time....

... Snadger was toasting his nuts by the fire.

"I really think we should wake him up" said Snoop ... "I can smell burning"

All of a sudden

[Snoop Puss]

The seven-league-boots stood up of their own accord and in a single leap shot out the door and out of sight.

"I'm glad I wasn't wearing them when they did that", exclaimed Nick.

"Where have they gone?", all the others chimed in.

Except the fairy, who asked in ominous tones, "Who have they gone to meet?"

It was the cobbler as they had a few loose nails, but this was no boot cobbler but a rather special , prize winning chef who specialised in Xmas cobbler puddings.
So far the recipe wasn’t in the Great British Pudding Recipe book , but NTG was hot on his boots’ heels hoping to get the rather acclaimed recipe.

“I’ve got some custard” he shouted…..” I’ve got some custard!”….as his voice disappeared into the horizon….

Rary, never wanting to miss a free pudding dashed off after them shouting “ I’ve got a spoon!”…..
