Not a secret any more: well-rotted, organic mustang horse poop has arrived. Half of it, anyway. And it is extremely well rotted. Absolutely perfect, except the supplier and Mr Snoop and I clearly have very different ideas about what a cubic metre measures. Definitely less, but such good quality I won't complain. In fact, it's so soft and fine It'll be really easy to spread. And not niffy, so the dogs are showing no interest in it whatsoever. A big advantage...
No hay, though. So I need to see if I can source that elsewhere. Not easy to get hold of bales of manageable size, though.
But I'm extremely happy. And the plants will be too.
Rain after a long dry spell
Seeing fields of cut grass
swallows darting around
Bats
Wild flowers in the hedgerow
Longer evenings
Anticipating staying with family soon
Seeing our combined diy finally coming together!
And you lot!
A very young Coronella girondica snake curled up around some plants in one of my seed trays. It wasn't happy to see me. By the time my phone had switched on, it had slithered away, with no damage done to my seedlings. Probably eating millipedes at the moment - we have hundreds of them again this year - before moving on to lizards (boo) and small rodents (hooray).
Pottering about in my garden till I can't see well enough to continue.
Happiness is my garden, even when it is doing everything it can to break me!
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
