My neighbour has just been to tell me she has found my old boy curled up under a bush near the main road that borders our garden. The blood on the path nearby indicates he was hit by a car but dragged himself somewhere to fall asleep and he was very, very cold. My "gardening Grandad" Joe, who was working in a garden nearby, has him safe in a box until he can bring him home at noon. Thats the bit I am dreading, seeing him, his brother fell asleep in my arms and was all warm and peaceful but Ollie just wont be Ollie.

He was the most gentle, lovable, fun cat I have ever met. I could almost trust him with the children, he just gently batted them away, if they got too much, with his claws safely retracted. He was alot of fun and often followed me down the road and back again if I was ever door knocking the neighbours for any reason - just like a dog. He loved to play and made dd laugh so often - I know she is going to be even more devastated than me and thats saying something.

Sorry to hear about Ollie. Unfortunately that's part of the contract we sign when we take on a pet. We promise to look after them. They promise to love us unconditionaly. At the end they break our hearts.

                  Big hug from snuffer.

Sorry Tam.xxOne of our pigs(of the guinea variety!)died last week,DD & Ds were both devastated, but surprised us with their better than adult ability to cope!
Our cat got run over just over a year ago, again there were several tears, but they seem more able to let go than us.(or maybe it's just mine?)....the one positive we managed from it,was that DS used to be awful near roads, loosing a cat in such a way really helped him understand how dangerous roads are.We have a little wooden black cat on a shelf to remind us of him(DD helped me choose it.)
                        Lots of love,Di.xx
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Oh, poor old thing. He was trying to get back home. At least you got him back, and you won't always be wondering what happened to him ...

Oh what a rotten shame. That's the downside of pets, the losing of them, in whatever way. You have to remember the upside - all those years of fun and love.

Sorry this has spoilt what had been a good weekend.
