My neighbour has just been to tell me she has found my old boy curled up under a bush near the main road that borders our garden. The blood on the path nearby indicates he was hit by a car but dragged himself somewhere to fall asleep and he was very, very cold. My "gardening Grandad" Joe, who was working in a garden nearby, has him safe in a box until he can bring him home at noon. Thats the bit I am dreading, seeing him, his brother fell asleep in my arms and was all warm and peaceful but Ollie just wont be Ollie.
He was the most gentle, lovable, fun cat I have ever met. I could almost trust him with the children, he just gently batted them away, if they got too much, with his claws safely retracted. He was alot of fun and often followed me down the road and back again if I was ever door knocking the neighbours for any reason - just like a dog. He loved to play and made dd laugh so often - I know she is going to be even more devastated than me and thats saying something.
