Poor Wayne, I've suffered with a bad back (too much falling off horses as a teenager). Some days its worse, some days its bearable. It certainly inproved when I lost weight, but you have to be so careful not to rush into things just because you feel better.
Last Christmas I fell over at work carrying a tray. I really cricked my back and was flat out on the sofa on mega pain killers for weeks. Unfortunately they worked so well (and spaced me out so much) that I thought I was fine again. So I went upstairs, picked up the big Panasonic breadmaker I'd bought the OH for christmas, carried it downstairs to the living room and wrapped it.
I had to stop taking those particular painkillers soon after (coz they made me feel so awful), and needless to say I was in agony, which I suspect wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't wrapped that breadmaker!!
