Following on from the thread about a dog with a poorly tummy, and a few of you on here endorsing BARF/RAW feeding I looked into it and finally convince my OH to give it a go.
He was sceptical until he heard Mic Martin (of Dog Borstal) saying it was good for dogs and then he was all for it!!
Anyways, I have been visiting and smiling at local butchers, and being given bags of bones and scraps and making up meals for my babies. THEY LOVE IT!!(sorry to shout)
Tried moving them on from their old food slowly to prevent upsets, but they were having none of that and have now turned their noses up and just want the meat.
The cats are loving it too. Wish I'd heard about it years ago.

Mine haven't looked back.
I am not surprised they turned up their noses at anything else, mine switched straight away too, did you have any tummy upsets during the change?
don't forget if you are giving it to the cats too, they need lambs/beef heart at least once a week for the taurine.

A butcher in the village down the road can get ox heart for me for £3.50 for a whole one. They're huge.
(Steve cooked some for the kids and they liked it too. Looking at it for an addition for pies/stews.)
No tummy upsets so far, but poo is getting paler and less of it. They have had a nice meaty bone for their breakfast today.

I'm considering this. I'll probably switch in the New Year though as I've far too much to think about at the moment. I heard about it years ago and never did anything about it, but having seen so many other Grapes sing its praises I'm definitely going to give it a try.

That's fab news. It was my old boy, Ted with the tummy upset.

I have yet to try RAW/BARF as my Vet still has him on antibiotics, and said to keep him on his current food. We're slowly weaning him off the pills, and he's fine at the moment, but I can't wait to try it as soon as he's off the pills, and I'm certain I will go down the RAW/BARF route with my next dog(s).

Keep us posted, because I'm very interested.
