Has anyone sent a message to Admin?
Strike that, I've done it.
When we switched over to Vista we did have a few problems which were to do with Firewall settings. Eventually we just turned off ALL the Windows security and relied on ZoneAlarm/AVG/Spyware Doctor. Then we found out that it was one of the Windows Updates that had caused all the problems and removed it (or maybe did a system restore back to an earlier point?) and had no probs after that.
Instead of me bombarding her with stuff too could you ask her Wayne, if she did any Updates after she installed Vista?

No disrespect meant Sarzwix, but I'm running Vista with all its (and MS Office's) updates...I'm sure its not a good idea not to have Vista completely updated, especially if its only the Vine that's causing a problem. This would suggest its their sites 'settings' rather than piskie's machine. To see a world in a grain of sand

hold me feet - I'm here for a mo, no idea how long for and how much hair I'll have left before I get this nasty sorted.
I had set the FW to accept GYO as a Trusted site - no change
I had lowered all I could think of lowering (!) - no change
Some symptoms, I type a reply to a post - it takes eons to move on to accepting the post then it times out and all is lost and I have to start again I have resorted to copying all that I post in readiness for this blighter - but as I am spontaineous and swift I wanna come in, read, hit a reply and clear off
I am aware that it is me with the problem and not a problem with GYO - I'm just getting so grrrrrr with it
Thank you all for any thoughts, I will keep trying whatever is suggestedaka

If its when you reply to stuff, out of interest...
in User CP/Settings & Options/Edit options - down at the bottom 'miscellaneous options' what is it set to - mine is on Enhanced and it can be a teeny bit slow, it was on standard by default I think? To see a world in a grain of sand
