lol ...... see it's all mens fault, you can tell it's them that design these things ..... what woman would put a switch on things ....... it's like ........ what woman would ever invent a cordless iron ........ and more to the point what woman would buy one, knowing that it will go cold and take you four times as long to iron stuff.

erm what woman in her right mind would even iron things?

Yeah, but, it costs more to heat it up from cold, than it does to maintain the heat once it's warm

on a serious note, this is true, by setting a thermostat at 68 (room temp) you will save money by keeping the central heating on full time, because it only has to heat from there, rather than from cold, less energy, less money, then all you do is turn it up when it feels really cold. and back down when you go to bed.

                      or you can freeze....your choice.

i'm so tight lol ..... i put enough gas in for the next 2 weeks ..... plus an extra 20 so i can use the heating ..... it already gone down over a pound for 2 hours and the temp guage in the utility room was still only at 14 degrees ....... dont want to run the risk of running out and not being able to use it at all ...... it's all alien to me

and no i don't do ironing, but my ex bought a cordless iron so he could do his own ...... biggest waste of money ever lol

Lynda dahling, you need to stop watching it, yes its going to cost you, but watching it is gonna make you feel bad, get the house comfortable, shut all the doors, then turn it down.

its not what it costs, its what it takes, your house is frikkin feezing cos its not been on, pay the money, warm the house, then it costs less after. never be cold, cold costs you , you have to eat more, move around more etc, find the balance, pay the price

S*d the utility room! Shut the door on it!! It's gone down so much that quickly because it was flummin cold, so it's worked hard to get it up to temp. It should then only fire up now when the temp drops a bit, and it'll be on for a shorter time. Honest, it's true!
