...I've just been browsing for craft stuff for projects and found this disclaimer from a seller... sounds like she's had some nightmare stories from buyers!

Payment MUST BE RECEIVED within 10 days of auction close- NO EXCEPTIONS! I am simply tired of waiting 10 days and receiving no payment and then after a reminder email ,hear that the winner just posted payment yesterday. If payment is still not received ,item will be relisted,negative feedback will be left and non-paying bidder alert will be filed. If you have ANY indication that you cannot meet the 10-day deadline(like you are leaving on holiday,going out of town,having surgery,being abducted by aliens,your baby is due today,you are taking a trip into space,someone named Jimmy the Knife is looking for you or have recently developed a taste for raw meat and your canines have grown) PLEASE do NOT bid.I really hate leaving negative feedback and try to avoid it if at all possible. If you have made it this far, THANK YOU! Please know that I mean this all in fun and good humour. This is just an amateur attempt at humour in order to try and get my terms met.Please know that these terms apply to EVERYONE regardless of feedback rating,race,creed, national origin, religious affioliation, parental status, hair colour, car-breakdown status, health status, child-care availability, overtime hours, favourite vegetable, athletic status or musical ability. For my own sanity and a pleasant experience please follow the instructions..Again, if you have ANY questions, just ask. If you find the description was inaccurate,PLEASE let me know. If you return the item, I will be happy to refund your money, including shipping. I will not, however issue refunds simply because you changed your mind, decide you do not like the item or didn't read the description.I want us both to have a great transaction.

Didn't think sellers could leave feedback for buyers anymore anyway, but yes, I have sold on Ebay and had some pretty bad buyers. I had one person do a buyitnow and immediately leave bad feedback. When I checked they were selling the same thing as me.

Still, you do get many more good than bad. The whole thing would never work otherwise.

lol, that made me smile ...... have been on the receiving end of a few really crap buyers, it's very annoying ....... the most annoying ones are often abroad, when they buy a heavy item, which you clearly point out is HEAVY and you tell them the exact cost of postage on the auction, then they leave a negative saying postage was ridiculous ..... after they have decided not to pay it ...... grrrrrr

Sellers can't leave negative feedback...nor can they leave postitive with negative comments.

Unfortunately, it means that buyers hold the upper hand.

I used to sell, sold enough books one year for all my spending money for a New York Holiday. I only sell now for large items that are too good for freecycle. To be honest, nowadays it's easier just to freecycle - I can't be arsed with the hassle.

I sell quite a bit, just used children's clothes and other bits and bobs. Generally it's ok, if your description is accurate but I've had a few where people win something and you never hear from them again...I can quite understand why a seller would put that into their description!
Last week I had some dozy woman in Florida buy a (used!) birthing pool from me, I wrote in the description it weighed 6kg but she was still unwilling to pay for the postage...Fortunately when I relisted it it sold for quite a bit more so covered my wasted ebay fees!
Ebay pays for most of my christmas pressies so it's still worth doing, just a bit of hassle!

I sell, and I have a 100% good feedback rating.

I am very honest with my listings and descriptions; I weigh my parcels and charge accurate P&P; I post within 24 hrs of receiving payment.

I'm not in it to make money or rip people off ~ just to get a bit of cash back to fund my own purchases (which are many and varied!)
You've got to be professional about it.

I had one buyer from Portugal who didn't pay, didn't answer mails, umtill I logged him as a nonpayer. Apologised that he had been knocked down by a truck and was in hospital. Then he said he had a friend coming to England and gave them the money to pay me. They then ran away with his cash. Got out of hospital and got sick and was alone in his flat for a week untill he was rescued by a friend. Opened up a PayPal account but it got cloned before he could pay me and all his money got stolen.

I lost the will to live and OH had to hide all sharp items from me.

I had a dodgy person from Italy, who bought a jacket at UK prices, for UK postage. They then demanded I post it to Italy because "they had paid".

I told them it would cost an extra £3 to post to Italy, so they'd have to pay the difference. At this point they lost the ability to speak English.

I didn't post the jacket or give a refund though, and eventually an extra £3 appeared in my Paypal account.

I was sorely tempted to cut off all the buttons before I mailed it, but I didn't.

I've sold and bought about 1500 items on ebay, have 100% feedback and I can safely say I have never, even when you were allowed to, left anyone negative feedback.

I got pee-ed off reading her terms half way through and would fall into the category of 'Please don't bid'..........I'd just go somewhere else for whatever I was after..............she sounds like a pain in the butt!

So much for giving the buyer a positive experience when they look at your item!

Yes, I buy and sell. Whatever I want, I check on there first, because you can often get a bargain, even with the postal charges.

It's the same as any marketplace - there are scammers, nutters, pee-takers and idiots (dunno which category I fall into!). As well as the downright dishonest, but they usually get struck-off.

After a little while you get wise to who you can trust. My advice when buying is READ what is written in a listing or advert, don't just skip through it and you should be OK.

My son has recently started to buy things at local auctions then sell them on e-bay. So far all his customers have paid immediately, perhaps he's just lucky.

I've been eBaying for five years now, and I've only had one or two dishonest buyers, who click on 'Buy it Now' then disappear off the planet. I don't bother following it up, I just re-list the item. Some people have nothing better to do with their sad little lives than mess other people about. I try not to let it get to me.

There's a lot of people who 'dis' eBay, saying their charges are high, but everything is clear and they tell you what the charges are in advance, so I don't see a problem, personally.

Sounds fair enough to me. She's obviously got messed about in the past.
I always check feedback before buying from someone, and so far the experiences I have had were positive.
Steve sells stuff now and again, he's had no problems.

I sold and bought a few things on ebay.Never had any problems.
OH paypal was holding the money for several days before the seller got it. I have no idea why.
