Why do men take so long getting ready

I'm just wondering this myself. OH has been 'getting ready' since 4pm, I've had my bath, but I'm sitting here in my robe waiting until 7.50pm (ten minutes before we leave) then I'll nip and get dressed. If I do it sooner our dog will just do the 'Ooh I luv you mum, let's have a cuddle' thing and I'd just have to go and change anyway.
