Aww sweet, what is his/her name? I will at some point find piccies of my first pony and scan and post them (well before the time of the digital camera - or indeed the home pooter for that matter)

OK, here's a pic of me being taught to ride by my big fella', he's a 15.3 Welsh Cob with attitude.

Lucky you terrier. I always wanted a section D to show - my old boy's mum was a lovely chestnut roan section C but she had no papers so I couldn't show her.

Since I was 7 years old, I wanted my own Welsh Cob. My original horse was a pedigree Welsh shower called Minstral. We found her in a field, unwanted by her young owner. After a few years we put her in foal to one of the top Welsh champions and Cysgod was the result. So I eventually realised my lifelong dream of having my very own Welsh Cob. He is all black with no markings hence the name Cysgod (welsh for shadow).

Quite so, he is a naughty little monkey- he throws his feed bucket over the door! Fudge is his name and our daughter simply adores him. He has started his training and has had a bridle and roller on, which didn't bother him one bit and he is lovely to handle.

If our little Welshy's feed bucket is empty when he comes in at night, he picks it up and throws it across the stable in disgust!

Hi can any of you people with a horse help me. I need to get 2 replacement round rubber discs that go on the bridle mine have gone really manky. The 2 white rubber round discs that go either side of the bridle that stop the bit slipping in the horses mouth. I have no idea what they are called so it makes looking on google impossible. Does anyone know of a website on the internet where I can get these or even what they are called? Thanks

They scrub up quite well with a bit of Cif or other kitchen cleaner.

Also, they are not to stop the bit slipping through the mouth but are actually used on a 'loose ring snaffle' to stop the corners of the horse's lips being pinched in the rings. If you use an 'egg butt' snaffle it stops the pinching and there is no need for rubbers.
