Update from Sarah - not good, the Doc wants to open up the cast and let the swelling go down before they will put a new one on!!

Poor lass is really fed up at the thought of yet another night in there - I can understand that looking at the picture of the meal she sent to me

They did that with sons hand when they put a pin in it, he went in for a day case, and was in a week and a half ....... wait for it, ...... cos he couldn't move or feel the finger that the pin was in ....... they took the cast off, piddled round for ages, then realised the pin was stopping the finger moving as it was on top of the nerve lol ...... muppets ......... give em a good kicking sarah

My OH fell out of the back door and broke his heel. ( in the middle of redoing the kitchen moved the door no steps ) He ended up in hospital for a week because he had high blood pressure. Yeah we knew that cos he was on tablets and was under his gp for more tests. He demanded to be discharged, he was wise cos he didnt discharge himself. No plaster just keep off it for 3 months, no driving no weight bearing nothing. A few years later he had to have it rebroken and put in plaster for another 3 months.

Poor Sarah, sorry to hear your news.

I broke my foot last summer, not nearly as bad as your injury, but it's so inconvenient isn't it. I struggled with my crutches for a few days til I got the hang of them, but the worst bit for me was when I flushed the back of my nightie down the loo!
