Yes, thank goodness It was within bearable range when I came round from the anaesthetic. I've got the same painkillers I take for my back, they're plenty strong enough

                    • Had to have my ankle wired back together after a car crash about 15 years ago. Hurt like hell at the time but don't worry, it'll be OK, just bear with it and don't get too annoyed about how much hard work it is to get around on crutches - very annoying having to stand in the kitchen with a cup of tea to drink cos you can't take it back to the living room! Get a little ruck sac to carry stuff round in, found it helped no end and reduced the number of repeat journeys to the same place to get something I couldn't carry the first time.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

You're so right! I am getting annoyed with the crutches And getting up the stairs took about 10 mins last night (My own fault for being overweight..)
I already started using an over the body bag to carry my pills etc in, but I haven't sussed a solution to the brew thing yet, except asking the OH nicely

Monsier Le Ponge - I did cry, and scream, and howl like a wolf I'd have defied anyone not to...

Or as one of my old ladies that I 'garden' for has, one of those walking-frame trolley things that oldies use. (You can probably hire/borrow one from your nearest Macmillan Group).

They've got a bag attached and a tray that you can take everything you need in, or you can sit on it for a rest if you're not up to the whole journey at once. They've got brakes on the handles, like a bike, so you don't go any faster than you need.

I'm just thinking back to how stroppy I was when incapacitated, and everyone was fussing around me and offering to help, when I just wanted to be independant. I have no patience, I'm afraid and I was a lot younger.

                                Hope you better soon. X
