It’s that time again folks!!!

Everywhere was white. Cold. Crisp. White.
At first Nicos thought it was the first snowfall of winter but on closer inspection it was thick frost.
Pulling on her boots and wrapping her scarf around her neck she headed off towards the Gardeners Rest.
She could feel the big, heavy key in her pocket along with her notebook. She really didn’t want to be late this morning as there was a meeting to discuss the opening of their new little cafe attached to the Gardeners Rest. “Dine and Vine ”
Building work had been going on throughout the year and now the final touches were needed to have it up and running in time for Xmas.
Phew - she’d made it without slipping over .
Turning the key, the old oak door swung open. Nicos grinned . Home from Home. So many happy memories and adventures ……

She turned around at the sound of a merry toot toot. A tractor and trailer was heading towards her. Snoop was driving and grinning. Aboard the trailer was a very bedraggled and smelly bunch of gardeners.

"She wanted to practice with the muck spreader" moaned one of the smelly specimens on the trailer. "She deserves keel hauling....or the landlubbers equivalent" moaned somebody else.

Nicos welcomed them all while holding her breath and wondering if there was a working, non frozen shower inside......

“Are those cinnamon buns I can smell?” she wondered…..

[Nicos]

Indeed, gf was carrying a basket of freshly baked ones, nearly tipping them out as she waved to Snoop…

[bramble]

Just then Bramble appeared.
Is that cinnamon buns I can smell she said. I'll have one of those, they're my favourite.
But before she could reach out for one the bedraggled crowd on the tractor pushed her aside and scoffed the lot
Well, this is a fine start to the season she said...

“Waste not want not “ said Rary carefully mopping up the liquid manure dripping off the gardeners whilst munching away on one of the cinnamon buns.

Suddenly Nick the grief turned up from the back of the GR carrying a hose pipe thought the motley crew as he hosed them down then passed out prewarmed Panto clothes ( well…it’s all he could find in a hurry )

Of course everyone argued, nobody wanted the cow or horse costume, particularly the rear halves.....so there ended up being at least four ugly sisters, a cat, three fairy godmothers and even some weird mutations....half giant, half fairy and half pirate half genie......

…and something which was glowing bright green….

....It was the crocodile costume and it seemed to be intent on chasing the half pirate....captain half Hook. It ticked loudly as it moved around......

[Snoop Puss]

"Oh no! Run, everyone!", shouted Snoop. "It's a ticking croc!"

She grabbed a bun as she headed towards the door to the new café...

…unfortunately the bun was still attached to bramble’s head ….

.....Chaos ensued. Just as it looked as if the crocodile was going to get mouthful of Bramble and Snoop the alarm clock went off. The crocodile rolled over on it's back and one of the ugly sisters began to rub it's belly....

I was wondering if you’d be open this year Janie said as she tried to sidle in unobtrusively.

Skilfully, she did something which no-one was anticipating…..
