The First of……2023

My first two sweet peas appeared today too Bren!. So tempted to cut them, but I managed to resist!

The first pea pods (Hurst Green Shaft) have started growing and the first courgette flower (Defender F1) has appeared. It's all starting to happen now!

I picked the first courgette yesterday.

Picked and ate our first black cherries. Not got many though this year.
Yesterday I picked our jostaberries as they are just ripe. ( got to get at them before the birds!)

Picked my first 2 courgettes and will be using them in this evening's meal.

I pulled the first carrots (Nantes) today. The peas aren't far off either!

I cut my first kale - Cavalo Nero.

In the past week we’ve also picked our first courgette and runner beans.

The other day I heard my first ever black woodpecker.

I have picked two lots of peas since last Wednesday... and there is still loads left!

Our first mirabelle for years - and yes, you guessed it- it had a bug in it
There are more to come so let’s hope they are ok

The first of my Tigerella tomatoes not grown that variety before.

Hi All,
Nicos - It's the opposite this year with my Victoria, just a few this season so expect next season to be dripping with them...

BIP - I grew some Tigerella a few years ago and they did ever so well, unfortunately it's only the wife who like fresh Tomatoes.
Next season though I will be full on with Toms of different varieties as I was very,very late with everything in the garden after a couple of set backs with health and other hiccups, needless to say the wife loved those Tigerella's though so enjoy.
