Venus/Jupiter conjunction 1/3/23

If anyone has a clear sky tonight - just after sunset you might see these two very close together low on the horizon to the West…

- apparently if you have binoculars you may see some of their moons.

I noticed these 2 were quite close together last night when a gap appeared in the clouds. They are hard to miss if the sky is clear.

At the moment we have a cloud-free sky…..apart from where the planets will be…hopefully that’ll change

We saw them!

OH got our aged telescope out to try and see the moons but they kept moving out of the field of view.

Do look out over the next few days - it is quite unusual and amazingly bright.
