Seems liver is dividing the nation! I wonder if the same people that like liver and kidneys also like marmite? I do!

cor sounds lovely, wish i could get venison liver round here, my butcher has to buy in venison, so he doesn't get the whole carcass ( not enough call for it sadly), we have ordered some steaks for xmas, cos he couldn't get loin unless someone else ordered it and noone did
never made my own pate though, i should try it, the only one i make is a simple sardine pate, my mums recipe, a cheapie from back in the 3 day week times. still love it on toast though and so do the brats.Last edited by BrideXIII; 06-12-2008, 03:51 PM.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

My view is that if you are going to butcher an animal you should try and use every edible part of that animal, including the offal. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

No way liver is lush, especially if its still warm, th.th.th.th.th.th.th.th.... though I do have to cut around the larger tubes, they is a bit rubbery.
Kidney however that's a different story ruins a perfectly good steak and ale pie. Gizzards nice, and heart, and parsons nose, and goats hooves, and ears and cheeks of pigs....mmm now I'm feeling peckish. Really looking forward to christmas eve, when I cook up all the giblets for an evening snack.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Went to someones house for tea once and they did liver in the chip pan You could've bounced it off the wall. They were trying their best to impress I think, and I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings....so...um............................................I ate it.
Haven't eaten the stuff since. Yuk!
The mash potato served with it had quite a lot of dog hair in it too.!!!
So I must vote no for liver.
Izi.

I nearly heaved in front of the FIL on our first meeting, we had a roast duck that he had killed etc and my wife and her brother where fighting over who was going to eat the oil glands from the parsons nose.
still makes me urge, thinking about it.
as a son of a butcher, there is not a lot of an animal I won't eat, love offal, but do draw the line at eyes and arsesKernow rag nevra
