I didn't get on with Lovefilm, they seemed to take ages to send them back, then tried OutNow - even worse, and am now with Blockbuster who I cannot complain about. A mate of mine is a real film buff - nerdy almost, and he has been with them for ages without problem, so that was a good enough recommendation for me...

Anyway, back to your question. Recent films I've really enjoyed:

Into the Wild (2007) (great soundtrack too)
            Martian Child (2007)
American Gangster (2007) (this one might infringe the violence requirements)
Crash (2004/I) (great example of the interplot genre)
            Juno (2007) (just brilliant)

I could go on, but shan't just in case I'm way off.

A Knight's Tale (Heath Ledger again and the soundtrack is ace)
O Brother Where Art Thou (another amazing soundtrack)
              Mr and Mrs Smith
              The St Trinian's films
              Another vote for Hancock
              Chocolat
Recently watched the 2 French Connection films again, not comfortable to watch, but good.
And if the daughters and I are having a girlie night it's always Practical Magic.

                        I love both those films!

Unlike my Husband, I'm not a big film watcher, but I did enjoy both The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption.
