We lost out last dog about 4 or 5 years ago and I wanted one at the time but I was over ruled and then Mrs G was 'adopted' by a westie on holiday about 2 years ago and since then its grown as an Idea ... I kept quiet and finally managed to sneak the idea of a Spaniel into the mix(my favourites) and its gone from there.

I must admit I'm looking forward to having a bit of company and have some adventures planned with him in the peak district ... don't think I'm up to backpacking now like I did but a few day walks will go down well.

That sounds fab Nick. We lost both our dogs within a year of each other so that was hard. Due to health reasons we can’t have another but if I was ok I definitely would.
Enjoy Gus when he arrives!! Remember photos please!!!

Sounds like you're all going to have a lot of fun with him.

was supposed to be today but His mum had to go on antibiotics ( i guess breast feeding 7 pups takes it out of you ) and so they had to put them all on to solids and it gave him a bit of an upset stomach to start with and the Vet didnt want to give him his 1st jab ... so He's getting that on tuesday now and we go over Wednesday to get the little blighter or is that biter. THe breeders have been in contact with us pretty much every other day so can't complain about that and we could have picked him up earlier but she wanted to get him sorted out before we had him.

Daughter can't wait, wife is looking forward to him but is aprehensive about being in charge of a pup and I've already got some walks lined up for when he's bigger in the Peak district - I'm determined to get fitter again!

Jay22 - yes its hard isnt it it really upset me when Natch died she was my companion - had a bed on the staging in the greenhouse ( loved to basque in the sun there) and another in my man cave and was never far away from me.

Its been a tough few years but hopefully Gus will be a good replacement.

Absolutely gorgeous. And a nice temperament by the look of it. A winner of a dog.
