anyone else got "cant do much on the lottie blues." tried to throw myself into indoor pursuits, xmas ,cooking, sewing etc but find myself staring out the back bedroom window where i can just glimpse the lotties.Ive taken a walk down there most days to blow away the cobwebs but its so aaahhh at the moment.Seed catalogues arnt doing it for me just make me more anxious to get going and i know i cant.
Begining to think this a real sympton of a real disease. I miss the chats down there and the sun on my back ,perhaps i should turn my plot into a mini eden project and cover it with bubble domes.
Im asking santa for spring for xmas, been ever so good this year, think he will oblidge?
Oh yes I have the blues.........i have started an A level law course to keep me busy........all seeds ordered, catalogues read and reread........garlic, onions, cabbage are managing to look after themselves, having the sprouts and leeks as company. How many times can you clean a house? The car is spick and span, no soil or seed spillage.........how this time of year makes us change!! Soon be January when I start seed sowing lol..........so not long to go,
we are in for a couple of really cold nights , well for us anyway, but I hope at the weekend i can get out and have a bonfire at least, i do have a fair bit of stuff to burn if i can get it alight, has to be done after dark though cos we are not allowed bonfires
and i have finally given in and dressed the tree, sadly its looking a little anemic unless i sit in the dark with it LOL. I sowre i wasn't putting any other decs up, but I may have to at least do the xmas scene underneath and on the coffee table ( if i can get the brats to clear all their cr%p off it)

Of course, cos no one will notice a bonfire at night?

well technically no, we burn it low in an incinerator, at night nooone can see the smoke and report it, and my nieghbours don't mind and they are the only ones that can actually see it, i burn all their stuff too.
takes a while to get through it all, but we get it done and its better than petrol costs to the tip.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
I'm really tetchy too ... I have loads to do, but no enthusiasm. I just want to be outside, and it's too wet.
The grass is literally squelching under my feet. The girls don't like it either - fat guinea stays in the hutch all day sulking.
All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
Suffering here too......A few years back I said to Mr HF 'if it is not on the plot its not on the plate' regarding our Christmas lunch that is....turkey is allowed to be bought though!
So.......I have not seen my plot for two weeks now
Have the mice found the bags of spuds in the shed? have they rotted?
Have the voles had the carrots? the parsnips, the celeriac? the turnips? even the beetroot?
Have the rabbits had the leeks?
Have the pigeons had the sprouts? the kale?
Have the squash rotted?
Have the onions started to sprout? is the garlic ok?
Will the Elderflower wine be drinkable?
so much pressure- why ever did I start this crazy tradition?????
I woke up this morning (always a bonus) and realised that instead of only having 9 days to go till I get home, I in fact have 16 as I volunteered to do an extra week so my back to back can have xmas with his family. Pah!!!
Cant wait to get home and get out in my garden and do "stuff."
Then I looked at SH's legs, and the world was a better place

Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
yeah me got the blues, can't even order seeds or nuffin' coz don't know whether i'll be able to plant, sow etc. I know i could do tubs/containers but can't guarantee at the time me and OH will be able to lift them, and no matter what we do for 'friends and family' everybody suddenly disappears when we say 'can you' (its like lighting the fuse to the dynamite) can't get sentence finished, well can but only me & OH still around to hear it.
So doing some 'illegal' (we're both diabetic) cake baking to cheer myself up. Still roll on midnight, there might be something we can tell the council we'd like to be considered for.

Not feeling too bad, today. I think because I did actually get a ride on the 'orse yesterday and also got out into the garden and planted 150 bulbs (hope it isn't too late!), cleared up some dead crocosmia leaves and also decorate the TWEE!!!! Made me feel a little Christmassy!
