    27p for a letter ( under 100g)

they go by size and weight now more than wieght alone, so watch what you are sending with them.

Thanks...so if I used 10 x2nd class stamps on a parcel (£2.70)- that would be fine for covering the cost of a parcel for £2.51??

depending on the size of the parcel yes, they do this measuring thing now about it going through a letter box, but if you have had it wieghed and it needs £2.51 they should be fine.

Had a row at the post office earlier today after having a thing through the letter box yesterday saying that I'd got a letter to pick up which was under stamped by 15p therefore would cost me £1.15 to get off them. Anyway, turned up and it was a very light A5 sized envelope which should have been OK with a normal stamp but they still refused. Weighed it when I got home and it was less than the limit but there wasn't a lot I could do about it by then and suppose it is a lovely card but is it just me thinking that this is a bit of a rip off?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Last christmas we had a card from a cousin who lives 6 miles away from me with underpaid postage and it cost us over £1 to collect it, the reason they gave was it was too big by a fraction, at this time of the year you would think the post office would let them through. No wonder people only use the post office if they really have to.

I have had things weighed and measured at the PO, and the recipient has STILL been charged for under-postage.
                          It IS a rip-off.
