Well last thursday, thieves ransacked the allotments, breaking into sheds, wrenching off locks and padlocks, smashing gates...........our sheds were a mess, they had rifled through, throwing everything on the floor, smashing glass jars etc.........they stole my tools that were given to me by my kids....took the petrol cans and then threw tools etc all over the plot. I have not got the heart to tell gordon, the old chap I share my plot with, the truth as with his health it might finish him off. They even stole his old coat. I feel anger towards whoever dunnit but moreso invaded.

noi security at all, council wont provide it and the local allotment society spend their days fighting to have chickens on the site than fighting a worthwhile cause like security!!!
One old lady was heartbroken, they had smashed her gate and she feels like giving up.Dont worry about tomorrow, live for today

I'm so sorry to hear about the vandalism, you must be feeling gutted, I know I would be. Has your local paper been and done a piece on it? Sometimes if your local rag does a bit, then local businesses might offer to sponser something like security. Maybe you could approach a local store like B&Q or something like that and ask them for help in return for free publicity for their support.

We too were victims on a previous site...and so we moved. Too much hard work involved to let it go to waste
(we did stick it out for 3 yrs though)
