I almost bought a mug filled with hot choc. & marshmallows when I was out shopping today, it looked really cute & was in a knitted 'cosy' but I thought, no I don't need it & don't know who to give it to as a pressie, wish I'd bought it now!Into every life a little rain must fall.

I shall don my nurses uniform and strongly suggest that our Vine blokes are on hand with chocs and booze for you suffering ladies. Stand by your beds boys!I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Got a new cast on this morning, bit more comfortable. Gotta go back in 2 weeks. Really tired from hauling myself round on the crutches though. And I've been told it'll be 3 months before I can walk properly on it So a bit fed up at the mo. Have no idea how I'm going to get stuff like pressies wrapped & hampers made up, poor Jez is struggling anyway - feel bad even asking him to make a brew...
Blaaaahhhh.... Someone distract the ****-fairy from my house... Pleeeeeasse!!!

Oh man...3 months?
I was off for 3 months when I smashed my elbow, but I didn't have a cast and by 'eck - I needed the rest. We went to Florida to see Mark's brother and family a month after the accident - it had been booked for months - and I was totally shattered for the whole time we were there. Not helped by the painkillers which made me really depressed - almost suicidal to be honest. Once I came off those it was much better.
I had to keep moving the elbow, to try and minimise the bone build up [the more the bone came back around the elbow, the less extension I eventually got], but the worst bit was - when I went to my consultant in the local hospital [the accident happened in Kent and we lived in Nottingham] - he looked at the xrays and said it was a bodge job and he wouldn't have done it like that. GREAT! thanks for the info.
I never thought I would make it through the time off, but I slept so much and watched pretty much every episode of Seinfeld [again] on Paramount comedy...it saw me through.
I don't think I would have anticipated hampers to be honest...can't you ditch that until next year? You've got to have some limits???

Trouble is, I've spent months making the stuff to go in them, and all our families & friends were getting one... I'm thinking I might just get a load of boxes and do 'pick your own contents' when any of them visit...?! That'll only leave a couple which need to go by post/courier.
