A couple of years ago when my husband was unwell and our car was abandoned in Cornwall the only way I could do any shopping was online at Asda.
I have to say I was very pleased with them. The whole service was excellent and it was a real boon to me at the time.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Call me cynical, but they wouldn't sell the wine at a loss, so therefore they have been ripping consumers off all along and now, they make you think you got a bargain! ...

      *mumble grumble*

      Sorry Rant over

I'm not saying they are or they aren't selling the wine at a loss, but I believe they do still have what's known as 'loss-leaders'?

Asda cheap wine it really IS the 'proper' price it gets marked down from (much the same price as in Waitrose) but they don'e put much of the quality stuff out when it is in the 3 for £10, and they don't leave it that price for long. I think the idea is you buy it cheap to try, then if you like it, you go back next week and it is back to full price and something else is cheap...... I reckon a lot of people buy the nice one at full price.....

Last week they had Lambrusco Emilio Rosso (yes that is always cheap, I was sort of changing the subject). I think even Lynda might like that (fans of 'proper' wine probably wouldn't). You don't see it very often. White or pink Lambrusco are common, but the red is unusual. They also had a nice desert wine at an incredibly low price,( £3.26 I think) and it is good with cake.

We go to ASDA for the bread. No-one else makes a Tiger Chest Bloomer like ASDA. Any excuse (we don't go all that way JUST for ordinary shopping, but once nearby......)

Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
