It's more like mine too at least maybe only a week or two behind anyway, not like the tropical climate of Longmeadow (even though geographically Monty's much closer to home).
I was interested to hear the observation on peat-free that they'd noticed the top being dry but the lower levels still being saturated then vice versa as the plant grows. I'm rethinking my usual 'finger test' for watering this year - I wonder if poking deeper into the pots with a wooden skewer or a lolly stick might give a better indicator?
