I havent had this problem but years ago I was making my sons bed and found page three under his pillow loads of them I just put them back , but he knew I had seen them and didnt put them there again. Page three isnt as bad as what is seen on the internet though.
Good luck with sorting it out.

When it was may turn to face this one, I just pointed out to my son that I could track every website he visited - I never mentioned the porn sites and neither did he - but he didn't use my computer for visiting those sites again!!

Thanks all for replies - Two-sheds you hit the nail in the head - I'm pretty broad minded too, and would probably have done the same as Jackie J with page 3s, but some of it was pretty messed up stuff, I had concerns about the young people involved, and it all leaves a trace on my computer too. Still I'm geting some perspective now - and yes you are all right - son normal. Son's fine in fact, we have a good relationship and can talk about most stuff, he had to know why I was mad - and setting up controls.

I still can't get into my own user account. The password was one that made sense to me at the time - and I thought this morning when I woke up I'd maybe remembered it, but no. I've got into the habit thru work of setting secure passwords involving lower and uppercase and numbers and letters. And yes, - why didn't I write it down!!! Hope I don't lose my own stuff.

Oh here we go - 15 minutes til I'm logged off!

Why not reinstall everything anyway? Start with a total reformat of the hard-drive? I don't know what he was looking at but I wouldn't want traces/spyware etc on my hard-drive?

I was ahead of myself - still got half and hour! Come to think of it - if anyone does know how to get me out of the spot I'm in better pm me for risk of turning GYO into a hackers site! : )
Trying to get the info off the web but those pesky parental controls keep getting in the way!!
Just got yours Manda, thanks - will ponder that one.

I'm not that computer savvy ... but I caught someone out by double-clicking in the Grapevine search box. It seems that "other" sites use the same search box as the Vine.
Let's just say, the results I got weren't much to do with vegetables

Eldest stepson (17) has been living with us and always wants to take the lappy into his room. We knew he was looking/searching for at adult stuff as well as downloading music etc, but he was told that the search histories had to be cleared so that the younger kids didn't stumble upon whatever he was looking at. (we would check it as well just to be sure what he was looking at)
Until Friday night, I had downloaded some music and when I went into the sharing folders to transfer it to my mp3, I found some videos that were educational to say the least!! OH duly informed and shown, he is not happy at all. (neither of us are prudes) Right clicked on 'properties' to see when file was created and it could have been no-one else but the boy.
He is now banned from using the lappy, never mind taking it into his room and the PC in the living room can't be used for downloads anymore since software not reinstalled following a nasty crash a couple of months ago.
We cut him a bit of slack cos of his age, and curiosity is normal, but he promptly went and hung himself with it! He won't get a chance again.
