Everything crossed, Jackie. Another thing to register with is the council. Not a nice thought, but they have to make a note of any domestic animals they find on the road, with a description and location.

Really hope he's ok. I know how you feel. ((()))xx

Hope it works out. Ours went missing for a week, we leafletted the street and he was locked in a neighbour's garage, she had ignored the leaflet because she knew she hadn't opened the garage door ! When she did find him she tried to put him in her car !!

He made it home in seconds flat, and still goes into any open shed/garage.

When I was small we had a white long haired cat called Fluffy who went missing for about a week, the farmer next door found him, somehow he'd managed to climb in through the vent of a disused greenhouse & got stuck. He was lucky that they were walking past & spotted him, don't know how he'd survived in there but he was fine! Keep checking the sheds & garages Jackie.

I think he might have crawled away to die as he has been loosing weight and not been looking his best, he stays out on the door step when its pouring with rain even tho there are lots of places for him to shelter. His coat has lost its shine and he looks negleted so even tho he has lived here since he was 9 months old ( 1995 ) when we got him from blue cross, maybe someone thinks he is a stray, at best, or worse he has died or too ill to come home but I would have thought someone would have found him if that was the case.

Not necessarily Jackie, he might have gone under a shrub or a bush, they often do. I really do hope you find him soon

I hope you find him. Is it worth posting notices round the neighbourhood? We found one of ours like that. The people had gone away for few days and cat was locked in

Soooo hope you find him Jackie - nothing worse than a pet going missing. I lost mine last year for a week - it was terrible, but thankfully she came back.

Don't give up hope - do you have a local radio station who offers a missing pet service. I did that with mine - they broadcast the details about him, so if he has wandered hopefully someone further a field will keep an eye open.

Good luck - let's hope he comes home...hungry and in need of T.L.C.

Flowers is making some posters tonight and I was going to post some notices through letter boxes. As we have lived here for so long most people know he is our cat and always stop to talk to him. If someone has taken him in ( we have a few newish neighbours ) then they might think he is a stray as he does look worse for wear. The roads are pretty quite and he doesnt go far. But as each day passes I dont think it will be good for him, he has no fat stored to live off as he has lost weight.
I keep calling him and looking to make sure he isnt sitting on the back steps, every time the cat flap goes I make a dash to see if its him. I think the other cat knows somethings up cos even tho she is always giving him one, she is unsettled.

So sorry Jackie, but keep looking. As a child our 18yr old cat went missing for a week - about this time of year in Northumberland (very cold). We looked everywhere and had almost given up, thinking she had crawled off to die. We eventually found her underneath some fence paneling right outside the back door, we had searched before - she had eaten some poison but was still trying to get home - so early days still. She lived for another 18 months before we had to do the kindly thing but she certainly recovered from the ordeal and thought she was a kitten to the end.

I hope you find him and if you do have his kidneys checked - apparently weight loss is common in cats that age with renal problems

He has had a bad tooth for a while it comes and goes, the vet wanted to take it out as it made a hole in his jaw, but we decided that it wasnt really needed, at a cost of well over £100 to have it done when it doesnt seem to worry him and he was eating and drinking with no problems, and we didnt want to stress him out but have kept an eye on him cos if we thought it should be done we would have taken him back to the vet. Still no sign of him.

We get ours in every night so I always get really panicked when one of them is missing. One is a real home bird (or cat!) but the other one has his moments of wandering so I know what you are feeling. However, my friend has a cat who never really goes out and so she was in a right panic when he went missing. Was gone for a couple of months with no sightings and we all feared the worst. Anyway, one day whe saw a poster from the RSPCA with a "we've found this cat" thing and she was able to pick him up. About half the size he had been and with fleas and ticks but is now perfectly healthy. In short, don't give up.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
