So...anyone who has recorded it now knows the result!!!
So much for sitting down with the OH in 10 minutes and watching it...ho humm.
Well thanks for that. I've just reached the Louis Hamilton bit and was having a check up on you lot during a bit where my interest was waning and hey!!, the suspense has gone. Would have watched live but we had a friend visiting we have just been 'friends reunited' with.
But can we have a big cheer for how well the event looks at the Echo Arena in Liverpool - I tried for tickets but missed out. Love the big slope, great for bikes but really bad for huuuuge heels (worn by my favourite to win).
Anyway - surely if tattieman knew who was going to win he could have posted this yesterday and saved us all the bother of waiting in - with no tv/radio on - for 2 1/2 hours for our other halves to come home from taking their daughter swimming and spending the rest of the evening together.
Or he could just have called it SPOTY 08 and left it for us to make our minds up whether to open the thread or not.

Oh Lordy, sorry. I quoted the wrong quote, well actually I was clumsily trying to imply I agreed with your quote. It soooo wasn't your fault, or anyones fault. I understand tattieman's enthusiasm, but would have preferred it if the title hadn't included the result. I watched the rest of the programme without mentioning it to OH (memories of a Likely Lads programme for those old enough). So, sorry zazen999, didn't mean to cast aspersions. And well done Chris Hoy!

absolutely delighted that Chris Hoy won it. I met him about 10 years ago at the track in Edinburgh and he was lovely. He and his pals have done so much for British cycling this last few years...10 years ago you would never have seen it on the telly. So, well done Chris Hoy.
