Maybe not the flu - but definately a strain of it! Will not go away - we have had it for weeks. My poor 3 year old and me can't shift it - everytime he gets slightly better he comes down with it again. Have been to docs several times - apparently it is a virus which is taking a very long time to go.
Interestingly, on bbc news the other morning, a doctor was talking about this and said that it is a strain of the flu virus - hence my mum and others who have had the flu jab - dont seem to be coming down with it. Apparently there are anti-viral drugs available that will treat this but until this virus hits epidemic proportions the doctors will not be prescribing any!!
OH came down with it at the weekend. Understandably his case is far worse than ours!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a virus, not sure it is really the influenza virus which will lay you up in bed for a week. It's been really nasty this time though, persistent dry cough, congestion, lethargy headaches and finally cold sores, yuk.

My kids both are off, one with really bad flu, the other has had injection as asthmatic but has some other bug , I suppose. Husband is off with flu and by god he is harder work than both the kids put together. He is going to get his demands for lucozade and lemsip shoved where the sun doesn't shine in a minute...............

I've had the flu jab. Had sinus / headache for 4 weeks now. The doctor says take sudafed for the congestion and inhaler to clear my head. Just hope my asthma doesn't kick in until I can breath again or I will be in a box for Christmas.Digger-07

Only had proper flu once in my life and that was so bad that I remember having to crawl from my bed to the loo and back as I was so weak I couldn't stand up. Hope to NEVER have it again! However there are some really bad colds going round, just get annoyed when people go on about these being flu, they're not nice but not flu at all.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

don't think its flu, we all have the jab.
plus we had the flamin novo virus again earlier last month, that however was nowhere near as bad as last time, maybe we are building an immunity to it.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

It's not Flu (no fever), it's just a very nasty annoying cold. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
